First of its kind Carcinogenic Free Training Gear made by firefighters to end the exposure to cancer in non-live fire training. Train Clean. Fight Dirty.
Thank you @gfherald for covering what’s happening in Mayville with the Fire Department, its training facility @mayvillestate were amazing hosts for the NFDA Conference. President Van Horn is running a tight ship up there. Chief Hart met us @FDICevent and invited us up to show our first of its kind cancer exposure reduction concept. Firefighters need to train, but we don’t have to be exposed to carcinogens when we do it anymore. Our CRO attended, and multiple ND fire agencies were interested too. He also got to play some golf with his stepson who is on the department, and plays for @mayville_FB while getting his education. The next generation will train smarter than their parents, and these leaders are taking cancer more seriously than all the major fire departments. Chief Hart is seeking funding, and creating ways to better serve that community. He’s an Army veteran who told me he just takes care of his firefighters like he did his soldiers. As a former Marine turned fire captain, I can confirm this. The boy confirms it too. We are so fortunate for this relationship, and excited to see how this develops as a company, and a father I get a little wordy. It’s humbling as a small startup that the industry strongly supports, but won’t adopt. @LeifBabin@jockowillink
When did that airfield open? Long before any of the residents complaining lived there.
It’s like the person who buys the house next to the fire station then demands we don’t check our equipment due to the noise in the morning. Firehouse was here first. Due diligence?
Residents in Mesa report that constant touch-and-go flight school training loops from nearby Falcon Field have disrupted their daily lives for at least the past 18 months. https://t.co/Vx5EnpqFps
If you live in the American southwest, see your local agency website. It’s coming like clockwork. If you just moved to the area, ask neighbors for advice, and be of service. You can be in the dark for a while in the desert.
Monsoon season starts June 15 and runs through September 30, bringing the potential for lightning, dust storms, strong winds, and flash flooding across our area.
A few important reminders to help keep everyone safe this season:
• Never drive through flooded streets
• Bring children and pets inside before storms arrive
• Keep kids away from washes and drainage areas
• Respect road closure signs and barricades. They’re there for a reason.
Now is also a good time to review your emergency plan and make sure your family knows what to do during severe weather.
When storms roll in, remember: Turn around, don’t drown. #monsoon #safety
Firefighters have rescued four dogs and one turtle out of a mobile home fire near 19th Ave. and Camelback Rd. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the interior of the structure. All four dogs and turtle are expected to survive.
Humbled to earn the follow @jockowillink
Thanks for helping lose the chins, and the courage to figure out a better way to train firefighters. You’re legit. Any endeavor has belts. You were a humble white belt for Dudley, and showed your book wasn’t just to make a buck. Good blue belts help white belts. Dropped a target off at Victory because consumables in training are what they are… this company is a training consumable. I was there to meet a product developer named John Dudley, and ran into one of his fellow archery students. Bumping into the guy who wrote the book you got promoted off of was just Good timing. Thanks for the follow, Sir. Thanks for the mentorship. It’s done a lot for a lot of people🫡🙏🏻
Go fix it… then call command, and tell them what you did.
If they call it freelancing tell them you lead, and couldn’t get in on the radio over all the egos.
Rogue leadership with lives on the line isn’t for everyone. Know how to cover your butt when it gets chewed.
Effective leaders stay calm, detach, assess the situation, and move.
They ask earnest questions.
They simplify the problem.
They clarify commander’s intent.
Then, they execute.
Just got the text @originpete
Our owner is signing up. We make a gi of sorts… top, bottom. Manufacturing in America. Importing materials when we need American made to sell to the @DeptofWar where we’ve had customer interest. We need to expand the line too. Your expertise for a firefighter founded company is exactly the kind of mentorship we need! Thank you for teaming up with @intro and offering this opportunity 🫡
I built my first factory with a chainsaw in the woods of Maine.
Today Origin and Jocko Fuel do over $250M a year, 100% made in America.
Bootstrapped. No business degree. Just a college dropout from Maine who refused to quit.
We now run three factories, employ hundreds of people, and build apparel, footwear and supplements on a fully American supply chain.
I get a lot of DMs from founders on bootstrapping and brand building.
So I’m opening a few 1:1 calls on @Intro to help.
What I can help with:
✔️ Bootstrapping and scaling without VC
✔️ Building a brand, not a commodity
✔️ DTC and e-commerce growth
✔️ Getting through the $5-50M grind
✔️ Grit when it stops being fun
I’m offering 50% off calls through June 30.
Comment “Interested” and the @Intro team will DM you a link to book.

Our Chief Relationship Officer had a nickname on the fire department that was not a compliment:
Care Bear
Some people like that he cares about fighting cancer, some don’t. He gets to lean in to the idea in retirement finally.
@LieutenantDans7 is right. The @Cubs are indeed white knuckling it right now.
You cannot force your way out of the yipps, you gotta find your way out of the yipps.
I taught kids to get out of burning buildings, if they force it, they don’t do well, if they find it, they do.
Play free!! You’re pro ball players, and when you’re in harmony, you’re phenomenal. Injuries made us all tense, early teams have improved, and are using early data well. Put the center of the bat through the center of the ball like we’re all taught as kids, and build from there.
Love you guys, you’ll get out of it.
@jockowillink your local fire department’s issues aren’t being covered here on X.
Spotted this on FB. Worth a look. You asked about budgets. Our stories don’t get out over the noise right now. These are the people who serve your home, and businesses brother. We need a louder voice.

@jockowillink
This story isn’t showing up on X.
Remember in Tampa when you asked about budgets? We can never get out over the noise. It’s everywhere. Lost in the news cycle. I know how you feel about the folks that showed up for Victory. The members need a louder voice than our chiefs.
https://t.co/Ngb3DrknRf
@jockowillink why is this not being shared on @x by @fox5sandiego ?
How good were the firefighters when Victory needed them? We can’t shout as loud as a SEAL, sir. You, and @leifbabin taught me to find someone louder to get a call out.
https://t.co/YeKqvNIhZV
@jockowillink being a fellow blunt force fan… I have to warn you… it doesn’t work with firefighters. You have to get them to question what they are doing. Ask if it can be done better, cleaner, cheaper, safer? In the questioning they agree with you it needs to change. Then you offer your answer. We got a live one in North Dakota. Trying to not step on toes, and support. Being a default aggressive human? I’m already writing things that will help facilitate. If approved, I’ll let you know. I fixed my kid’s baseball team through getting them gear when coach asked. Now his fire department wants gear? Easy day for this stepdad. I’ll let you know if we get green lights. Creative funding is my specialty. My agency was always broke too. We found money. We’ll find them money too.
If you knew how many amazing firefighters lost their careers, or became blackballed in the industry for speaking out about the shots, you’d understand why no one spoke up from our ranks @RobSchneider
Tragic stories… countless. They could use a voice. We know two.
Being a brother or a sister in need is enough.
We’ll die for a stranger in a fire, but we won’t check in an unpopular firefighter?
This is the heart of our mental health crisis in the fire service @LeifBabin
Our CRO helped establish a peer support program at his agency. Lost members to self harm. Always an outcast. Same in the veterans that we took into the hospital for the same reasons. Take care of your people. TU Bruiser obviously did that. 🫡
