First Minister Michelle O’Neill was in west Belfast on Wednesday to launch the Irish language-led Anti-Racism Week.

Hosted by the Irish language sports and wellbeing facility Spórtlann na hÉireann, Fáilte 26 welcomed people of all backgrounds to share their cultures, engage in discussion, and build the solidarity needed to overcome racism.

The initiative is supported by the Community Relations Council, Belfast City Council, and United Against Racism, and features a packed programme of music, dance and debate.

🇵🇸 An incredible outpouring of solidarity and support for the people of Palestine in London today as hundreds of thousands are on the streets.

People in Ireland, Britain, Europe and across the world are standing together and speaking with one voice, and our message to the world’s leaders, especially in the United States and Israel, is clear;

End the funding and arming of Israel’s war machine, end the genocide, and end the occupation of Palestine.

There is an obligation on each and every one of us to take every platform and opportunity to directly challenge those responsible for committing and enabling the gravest human rights violation of our time in Gaza.

We must keep doing everything within our power to ensure there is a full and immediate ceasefire.

We cannot and must not give up until there is a free Palestine, where the nation and its people can prosper free from the shackles of occupation and colonialism.
