A $300,000 donated wooden art installation in Austin was burned to the ground overnight
Arson offenses are up 81% under DA José Garza vs. the years prior. Every year of Garza's tenure has topped every pre-Garza year.
Austin Mayor Kurt Watson trying to take credit for TX Gov Abbott cleaning up the homeless camps which reeks of desperation. The City of Austin has not enforced the camping ban and residents are not stupid as they see what’s been happening with their own eyes. Pathetic
Austin taxpayers: GO VOTE NO ON PROP Q TODAY!
Our city budget is already 30-40% higher per capita than Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
Our city budget has a $33M budget deficit for ‘25-‘26 (which is 0.5% of the city budget), and instead of making ANY hard choices, 10/11 council members voted to raise your property taxes by 20.2% to close the deficit.
And that would be bad enough, but the tax produces $110M annually, not $33M needed to close the deficit. And $50M goes to homeless service providers, most of who are heavily funding the campaign to pass Prop Q!
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
You can early vote today until 7pm. Early voting continues through Oct. 31. Election Day is Tuesday 11/4.

No, Austin doesn’t need a 20.2% property tax increase.
If our city council cannot do basic math, they will need mandatory remedial math education.
Vote no on Prop Q.
Early voting: Oct 20-31.
Election Day: Tues, Nov 4.
#DefeatPropQ
The main reason the City Council wants to raise taxes via Prop Q is bc they want more money for the Homeless Industrial Complex.
Mayor @KirkPWatson is openly saying this.
This is after they have spent over $500,000,000 since 2020 on homeless issues.
Insanity.

BREAKING — the AUSTIN MAN who shot a woman in the head and an APD officer near Zilker — has been identified.
This is the first reporting of his name: Brandon Leigh Thompson.
Thompson then broke into a Barton Hills home and was shot by the homeowner before his arrest.
Thompson’s record:
• Felony drug charge reduced to misdemeanor → just 30 days in jail
• Felony gun case never charged
• Multiple stolen vehicle cases — dismissed or dropped
• Resisting arrest — prosecutors declined to file charges (twice)
• Felonies repeatedly folded into single plea deals with no extra punishment
• 0 jury trials, mostly dismissals and plea bargains
Pattern: reduced felonies, repeated dismissals/declines, charges folded, no trials.
RIP Charlie Kirk. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is of Charlie or his politics if you don’t view this as one of the darkest days in American history than you are part of the problem.
Austin's rebranding project has cost $1.12M so far, including:

Austin DA Jose Garza says that Austin is one of the safest communities in the entire country. Yet the homicides have doubled since he took office and every day he dismisses cases and lets violent criminals back out on our streets. Facts and stats don’t lie… DA Garza does.
@RyanAlter If you care about the environment you & your pals would actually enforce the camping ban and get the homeless OUT of our green spaces and away from our water ways
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson claiming he “worries” about affordability while raising taxes to the maximum allowed every year including giving himself and city employees 4% raises every year and calling for a tax increase election on top of it. Austin is being gentrified in real time
