The service is a disgrace
Shocking figures from the Government's annual homelessness report reveal that over 4,300 young #CareLeavers are currently facing homelessness—a staggering 54% increase over the past five years. These vulnerable young people, who have already endured so much, are being let down by the system. It’s a clear call to action for stronger support networks, affordable housing solutions, and long-term care for those leaving the system. We need to do better. #EndHomelessness #SupportCareLeavers #YouthHomelessnessCrisis
One in three young people become homeless within two years of leaving care. If you walk the streets of London and have a conversation with homeless adults, it's guaranteed that the majority have been in care as children. The same is true in our jails. That tells you all you need to know, and it's enough evidence to make care experience a protected characteristic. The Care Leavers Project is a national call for action. Every child deserves the chance to live a good life with equal opportunities in education and employment. #ChangeIsComing

Everyone wants theopportunity to grow. Not every child has the same start in life and this has shown there has to be more places to meet and help and guide them to learn skills and knowledge while making friends.
RIP Riley 😥
Riley Townsend, from Ashfield, who played for Kirkby Colts FC & @Terversal FC tragically took his own life aged 12, leaving his family and the wider community completely devastated.
12-year-old Riley had been diagnosed with ADHD and autism and was struggling, he was described as "polite and kind" but had "had enough" and took his own life on Sunday, September 1.
The day after his death, a GoFundMe was launched to help his family cover funeral expenses. (Link in comments)
Fundraiser organisers Jodie Draycott and Abi Hill said: “His parents are afraid they can’t afford to give him the send off he deserves, so we are asking people to find it in their hearts to help this family through this very painful time.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Riley's parents, family, club and teammates.

Nik Ferrari, 8 weeks into the new Labour government, asks:
"How much longer can they lay the responsibility of the last 14 years at the doors of the Conservatives?"
Umm, a bit longer.
Boris Johnson was still blaming Labour, 14 years in.
