A few weeks back, Olise wiped his entire Instagram. Everyone assumed it was a power move amid the Real Madrid links and pressure on Bayern. But the real story hit different.
Olise has a personal photographer, Florence Pernet, who travels with him and captures his matches in her own unique style. He only posts her photos. During the World Cup, U.S. authorities denied her entry. So Olise made a decision: no more professional shots, no 4K glamour, just her work.
Now his feed is filled with screen grabs she takes while watching from home. He’s deliberately ignoring the high end official photos to spotlight hers.
That’s not PR. That’s a man who doesn’t forget the people in his corner.
Respect to Olise and to the parents who raised a real one. ❤️
BREAKING: French Senator Claude Malhuret TORCHES Trump and his alcoholic, drug-addicted administration on the floor of the Luxembourg Palace: "Every time the Epstein affair resurfaces, bombs explode somewhere in the world and cause a distraction!"
This might be the greatest MAGA takedown of all time. Nobody was spared...
"A year ago, here in France, I compared Trump's presidency to Nero's Court. I was wrong. It's the miracle court. An anti-vaxxer, former heroin addict as Minister of Health," he said, referring to RFK Jr.
Malhuret's comparison to the mad Emperor Nero is fitting. It's said that he fiddled while Rome burned. In Trump's case, he's building a ballroom while the entire world goes up in flames.
"A climate-skeptic Minister of Economy. An alcoholic TV host, Minister of the Armed Forces," Malhuret continued, referring to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
"An old Qatar agent, Minister of Justice. A groupie of Putin, Minister of National Security," Malhuret went on, referring to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Bondi previously worked for the Ballard Partners firm which raked in $115,000 a month by lobbying on behalf of Qatar.
"A Turkish proverb says 'When a clown settles in a palace, he does not become king, it is the palace that becomes a circus," said Malhuret. "His fine team has decided to create a competitor to the UN. Since the creation of the Board of Peace, Trump has triggered more military strikes than Biden during his entire term."
"Every time the Epstein affair resurfaces, bombs explode somewhere in the world and cause a distraction," he continued. "Bomb more to win more."
This is how the world now sees the American president: as a pedophile desperately exploiting his role as commander-in-chief to obscure the fact that he preyed on children with his long-time pal Jeffrey Epstein.
"There isn't a single country where Trump did not take advantage of the situation to enrich himself without ever forgetting his family. A Boeing plane offered by Qatar," he said, referring to the $400 million jet that Qatar "gifted" to Trump. "Investment in all Gulf projects or elsewhere. Stock market manipulation that only a few insiders benefit from."
"Any one of these conflicts of interest would have caused an immediate procedure of impeachment here," Malhuret. "But we are not here. We are in MAGA's America where public business is conducted in favor of private interests."
Rarely have we heard such an exhaustive yet succinct distillation of the Trump administration's rampant criminality and incompetence. By focusing on individual Cabinet members and what makes them uniquely unfit for office and then expanding the aperture to the broader patterns of corruption and malignancy, Malhuret delivered a master class in political messaging.
Every mainstream outlet in the U.S. should be running this speech to show Americans what the world thinks of our leaders.
Since they won't, please make sure to like and share to spread this far and wide!
@hemantmehta This guy’s definitely a student of the game. Oh yeah, and of history. He didn’t weigh in just now because of racism and stupidity or anything…🤦🏻♀️
PASTOR LORAN LIVINGSTON (@CentralChurchNC): “There has never been a Christian nation, and never will be. You don’t live in one now. A Christian nation wouldn’t have killed and displaced 20 million Native Americans, or thought owning slaves was pleasing to God.”
A BIG THANK YOU 🇺🇸
(apologies for the very long post)
Tonight we head home after what has been the trip of a lifetime for me and Mrs T.
When we landed in Chicago four weeks ago we had an itinerary, an RV booking and some World Cup tickets. As I sit here in the same airport waiting for our flight home (and for England v Mexico to begin) I realise what we didn’t plan for was how much we’d fall in love with America.
We’ve driven over 3,000 miles across 12 incredible states, cruised down Route 66, encountered tornadoes and heatwaves, camped under the stars, wandered through world-class cities, explored small towns we’d never heard of before, eaten some of the best barbecue, Cajun food, deep dish, cheesesteaks and burgers we’ve ever had, sampled fantastic local beers, celebrated the 4th of July in Philadelphia, spotted license plates from 41 states and watched 5 unforgettable World Cup matches alongside fans from all over the world.
But what has made this trip truly special hasn’t been the places.
It’s been the people.
To everyone who stopped to chat, welcomed us, recommended a restaurant, suggested a hidden gem, answered one of my many questions on here, shared advice, wished us safe travels, or simply took an interest in our journey… THANK YOU 🫶.
Like Keith from Louisiana, who I chatted with whilst filling up with gas at Buc-ee’s in Leeds, AL. Keith owns a couple of farms and took the time to educate me on the plans for huge data centers in his home state and also the origins of the Eisenhower interstate system. Thank you Keith.
Or the lady from South Carolina who we chatted to whilst sititng on the bleachers at the Field of Dreams. She was also on a road trip with her family and whose husband had briefly left that trip to fly to LA to watch the USMNT’s opening game.
And so many more encounters like these along the way.
The warmth, humour and generosity we’ve experienced everywhere we’ve gone has been overwhelming. I’ve learnt that many Americans feel their country has a negative reputation elsewhere but for us that couldn’t be further from the truth. Everywhere we have been there has been nothing but friendliness, good humour and love.
In my experience social media can often feel divided, but over the past few weeks our experience on here has reminded me just how brilliant it can be. I’ve loved the conversations, the recommendations, the laughs, and getting to share this adventure with so many people.
This World Cup trip has given us memories we’ll treasure forever, but it’s the people we’ve met, both in person and online, that we’ll remember most.
Thank you, America, for your hospitality, your kindness, and for making us feel so welcome. We leave with incredible memories, phones full of photos, suitcases that are heavier than when we arrived, and already a growing list of places we want to come back and visit.
This won’t be goodbye.
Just… see you next time.
🇺🇸🤍
(and I’m forever sorry for mistaking biscuits and gravy for scones and mushrooms)
@henrywinter@RoyalBelgianFA Wow so the guys that overturned AfCon in favour of the hosts weeks after the tournament ended and suspended Ronaldo’s ban for this tournament have now overturned a ban for the World Cup host’s best player? Shocked I tell you 🙄
@PewPewPew7Z7@usmntonly Tell us you don’t know anything about the game without telling us that you don’t know anything about the game. This happens in many countries. You could even ask a Premier League fan.
@CrapgameRamirez@PolymarketSport Gee, do things change? Do populations change? Do teams change? This is shocking news! You thought wrong. If you’re not good enough to make the team, skin color won’t change that.
