Enzo Maresca: "You need to adapt a little. Compared to three years ago, the big difference is set-pieces and everyone goes man to man. Arsenal rely on set pieces a lot. They use different strategies to win. We’re going to try improve, even set-piece numbers - you can win or lose with them.

“I’m not sure it’s going to continue like that. For instance, last season when Newcastle played Barcelona and it was 7-2. Atalanta and Bayern Munich was 6-1. Chelsea tried man to man with PSG and they destroyed them [8-2 on aggregate]. Usually the team defending found the solution to go man to man. Now teams we built are trying to find solutions against man to man. I don’t know when but I think there’s going to be a bit of change with man to man. We know many do it so we start to try find a solution. I don’t know how long teams continue man to man. Last season, when they tried it against big teams, they concede many goals. You need players creating overloads against man marking.

“For instance, if you see PSG - why are PSG so good? All teams go man to man and they have [Achraf] Hakimi at full-back: good 1vs1; Mendes at full-back: good 1vs1; wingers, midfielders, most players not physically strong. You don’t say Nuno Mendes, Hakimi, [Desire] Doue or [Bradley] Barcola are beasts, but they’re good because they can beat their man and are free to carry the ball. That’s why PSG in the last two or three years have been the best because they have players able to beat their man 1vs1.

“You need players with 1vs1 who run with the ball. It’s not just beat my man once, I need to carry. [Rayan] Cherki for sure but it’s not just one position - against teams that go man to man, you need full-backs and players able to beat their man…”

@EtihadPapers £40-45m GBP pounds is a fair value - given only 1 contract year remaining. Need to keep in mind any buying club can only offer 2-3 year contract given Rodri's age, as a 30 year old and his injury history. Btw Rodri has completed football - will there be hunger to win more?

@MC_frnk I would say keep, he needs to raise his game - be more clinical in front of goal. Otherwise he has good instincts for a goals, great movement and tackling prowess. He's good in half spaces and in transitions , only finesse required in conversion rate.
