CASA advances the science & application of x-band radars for improved severe wx outcomes. Our radars send real time info to N. Texans thru local partnerships.
In addition to all the hail and high winds, some areas: Midlothian, Mansfield, and Red Oak have seen over 3/4 inch of rain fall in just 15 mins! Red, peach color on the map. #dfwwx
This is huge. CASA radars supplementing WSR-88D overtop of known poor drainage locations can provide lead time to close roads and prevent motorists from driving into them. #TEMC2023

@flutterben Only that we hear that the radar is online and available locally to the NWS, and the problems are with respect to distribution to downstream users/apps. Our feed, which we incorporate in some multisensor products, is down at present.
Johnson and Hill Counties, esp. in the I 35W area also have been hit particularly hard per our radar estimates. (not to understate the amounts in the entire metroplex whatsoever...)
