In a matter seeking quashing of a criminal case filed by a woman against her sister-in-law under Section 498-A IPC, the Delhi High Court highlighted the alarming misuse of this provision.

The Court observed that misuse of Section 498A by way of baseless and concocted allegations exert additional burden on the judicial system and adversely affect the personal life of the accused person.
