Vendors do get this but are choosing not to do it. They are reluctant to evolve from a destination to an MCP server or API call in someone's agent stack. When that happens they surrender ownership of the user experience and open themselves up to being replaced.

I have one or two agents I use and like. For anyone else: give me an MCP interface to connect these agents to so I can use your service

Unless your a frontier AI lab, I prob don't want to use your agent, sorry

@ThePrimeagen Its one of those things people should take seriously, but not literally. There are some superficial similarities that make it a nice metaphor, but anyone who thinks you can treat people like machines is not a good manager

I appreciate the thoughtful response. The QoL challenges affect other cities too, but Boston’s costs feel harder to justify.

The thing I keep thinking about is the in-person culture. During COVID, a lot of people in tech moved out of Boston, went remote, or relocated to another city. That hollowed out the local network that helped drive the ecosystem’s flywheel.

It’s going to take time and a real grassroots effort to rebuild that.

@itsnoahd I would imagine it was the same approach bootcamps took last decade. Have people build products with the most popular development tools of the time.

It seems having CS fundamentals will still be an advantage, but we'll see a rise of pure builders
