CHART OF THE DAY: Lots of noise today about European nat gas storage levels. I liked this chart from Greek deputy energy minister Nikos Tsafos (@ntsafos https://t.co/GDMcXxjYhx). Adjust gas storage for demand (which has fallen ~18% in 5 years) and they don't low as low anymore.
@hcanercan@ira_joseph It’s an interesting strategy because the pain from LNG scarcity is felt in Europe economically (they’ll outbid for gas into winter) and in EM (they get priced out). Not sure the US admin is incentivized by either of these factors.
@hcanercan@ira_joseph Appreciate the link.
Ties to the theme of energy infrastructure reciprocity.
I find it interesting that gas infrastructure remains a target even though the gas position of the US implies attacks cause zero domestic/voter pain but maybe causes corporate pain for XOM etc.
CHART OF THE DAY: @Polymarket vs oil options market.

The interesting dynamic in the power sector is that costs of building solar gen keeps declining, but the value of an electron during sunny hours in sunny regions is also falling. Meanwhile, the cost of gas-fired gen is quickly rising, but so is the value of dispatchable power.
Did humans REALLY build the New York City subway system? At $1 billion per mile in today’s costs, how could primitive 20th century humans have built 850 miles of track? Did they have …extraterrestrial assistance? Or did they have some way of not spending a goddamn billion/mile?

Such a massive disconnect between EV/ESG companies that price the need for a quick energy transition to fight climate change, and Carbon prices being at the same level as 18 months ago
@colinmckerrache Is this China or China SAE? I saw SAE published guidelines, but they are not a government agency - so is more of guidance. Thanks for sharing!
