Lana Nusseibeh, the United Arab Emirates diplomat who is suddenly being promoted as a candidate for UN secretary general, hasn't only lied about the UAE role in sending arms and mercenaries to the genocidal Rapid Support Forces paramilitary in Sudan. She has also lied and covered up the UAE role in killing civilians in Yemen. Some examples:

United Arab Emirates diplomat Lana Nusseibeh's support for Gaza after Israel's genocide doesn't absolve her for denying the UAE role in sending arms and mercenaries to the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary in Sudan as they committed another genocide. No one who thinks some genocides are ok should be UN secretary general. https://t.co/luYp8IJze5
The International Criminal Court could charge Trump and Rubio with obstructing justice under Article 70 of its founding statute for intimidating or retaliating against court personnel for their official duties. That’s what Trump’s and Rubio’s sanctions do. https://t.co/NeTHUfzYVB
If you weren’t supporting @AbdulElSayed before this amazing exchange, listen to it & you’ll be in his corner. His sense of who he is, how fortunate he’s been, & what he wants for the rest of us is so beautifully expressed.
Can’t wait for him to win & bury the bigotry!
@SteveWitkoff is a political patsy: “You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again,” he pandered to a Russian dictator, on behalf of a would-be @POTUS dictator.

@elonmusk please please restore @Starlink to Ukraine! Russia the aggressor is pummelling Kyiv with ballistic missiles @NYTimes: https://t.co/1jnfmteC94
“It is sad and dangerous that at such a perilous moment, the United States is saddled with a president who excels mainly in disseminating self-promoting fantasies and while flouting the most basic rules of decency.” Well said, @KenRoth
Watch: Yuli Novak, B’Tselem’s Executive Director, speaking at the launch of our new report, The Elimination Project, and calling on the international community to act:
“How much more evidence do you need before you act? Statements do not protect anyone until they become action. Every day without meaningful action gives Israel more time to deepen this project and make it harder to reverse.”
The Elimination Project shows how Israel is systematically using interconnected mechanisms: violence, displacement, restrictions on movement, economic strangulation and political repression to dismantle the conditions that allow Palestinians to exist as a collective in the West Bank, while expanding and entrenching Israeli control and Jewish supremacy.
The international community must stop treating these isolated violations and end the impunity that allows this system to continue.

Let's go back to definitions of vote-buying: "The practice that occurs when Candidates or parties trade goods, cash, services, or access to public services to directly influence a voter's choice at the ballot box."

Well, thank you @BBCsarahsmith for asking "Is Trump's $5,000 election pledge legal?" The main BBC World story by @kolap66 misses calling this like it is: a bribe. @bbcnewstoday normalises this behaviour unacceptably and makes this seem business-as-usual.

There's British outrage about Nigel Farage allegedly accepting foreign campaign donations but no comment about a corrupt move by a desperately unpopular US president to buy votes?
Preserving the infrastructure of multilateralism is a core interest for small states and medium powers. It’s the challenge for @EU_Partnerships. And it’s the only tonic to reverse destructive results from “bi-lateral transactionalism” as @frankvogl writes: https://t.co/fco70fzQPC
🚨Aid coalition chief: Israel blocks wheelchairs, prosthetics, watermelons, and fresh produce from entering Gaza
Athena Rayburn, executive director of the Association of International Development Agencies, which represents more than 100 humanitarian and development NGOs operating in the occupied Palestinian territory, detailed Israel’s sweeping restrictions on aid during a UN Security Council briefing Wednesday.
🔹Israel rejects scissors, crutches, wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs as “dual-use,” bars medical specialists and restricts engine oil so severely that its price has risen to 45 times normal levels, bringing aid operations to “an absolute breaking point,” Rayburn said.
🔹Israeli authorities have also rejected watermelon and onions under an unpublished “humanitarian policy,” deregistered more than 30 international aid groups and repeatedly moved the supposedly fixed Yellow Line, cutting access to at least 85 water points, schools and health clinics.
“Humanitarian assistance, by its nature, cannot be conditioned,” Rayburn said, noting Israel was shrinking “almost daily” the physical space in Gaza where aid groups can operate.
@hakeemjeffries Your decisions show you aren’t listening to daily concerns about violence & genocide in Israel. I question your leadership & wish there was another party to vote for this fall
Dems are counting on people not noticing how they approach governing. Appointments on HFAC are a signal of what the party cares about and the disregard for war crimes and voter concerns could not be clearer.
