here is a rough sketch of the architecture.

Keycard = btc key + payment authorization
Shell = physical terminal
Blackbox Pay = shared ledger + offline cash layer
Cashu = fallback for offline payments
LoRa / Meshtastic = transport when the internet is gone

online:
btc can fund an offline Cashu reserve

offline:
that reserve can still move between terminals over mesh

merchant mode also works separately via normal QR payments from external wallets.

I've been playing with Cashu vouchers 🥜

Got a custom build of @MinibitsCash running on a Sunmi V3 POS terminal that prints ecash vouchers straight to a physical receipt. Works great!
