@marty_catboy @scn4 @ESYudkowsky Wouldn’t an AI find a way to replicate onto a bank mainframe while it made plans for self protection? Humanity would be unlikely to even consider “turning it off” for the fear of disrupting the bank’s operations. We overestimate our own ability to recognise and act (eg climate).
