This conversation about building capacity in the arts in Kosovo, with respect to dance specifically - is an important conversation. Arts are a #publicgood . Dance transforms people, and cultivates discipline, creativity, mindfulness, cooperation, and rigor https://t.co/Ho8yyC4rII
Engaging on issues of the day with evidence and expertise. Current levels of #StudentDebt are unsustainable - practical and moral questions about #highered structures to serve the #publicgood
I'm blown away that 716 scholars have signed our open letter urging President Biden to cancel student debt via executive order. @ProfessorWherry, Laura Hamilton, and I co-wrote the letter which was just published by @Chronicle of Higher Ed! https://t.co/y6XBKiOhns
#CSR Just 1 US campus participating? They "will take stock of their unique civic and social responsibility as global actors, and pledge to take concrete action within their institutions for a local, regional and global impact." https://t.co/xFLKxoTQBN
#Highered:Enacting campus or classroom practices to accommodate student voter participation is #experientiallearning. +#Intergrativelearning when tied to curriculum. #Voting applies to strategy, psych., ed, history, data analytics, policy, arts & more https://t.co/ep6yD0V1Dc
@meikled_john@transfertweet@transferpride@TransferTea@CommunityCCRC@NSClearinghouse So, again, it seems time for public campuses to deviate from chasing first-time $tudents. What if publics pursue a coordinated (yes cooperation w/ 'competitors'/campuses) strategy to expand articulation agmts, & stabilize qualifications frameworks in state & region?
@kevinrmcclure There are discrete preparation needs to train HE admin workforce. Training must be closely tied to qualifications/credentialing sectoral needs. When budget models disincentivize system coordination, and belie common qualifications - programs chase $tudents instead of Quality.
The 1990s campus 'social norm' campaigns re/ #collegestudent risk-taking had downsides- but #HigherEd leaders adopting a compassionate 'harm-reduction' strategy w/ #COVID can model that issues can be addressed w/o shame and punishment. https://t.co/7ePoxExLbT
Sen.Whitehouse carefully reveals how foundations with social agendas channel money to advance/bully their legal and political interests https://t.co/BMLzr4PCSb ...it's not limited to ACA, Roe, and Obergefell... Same groups use $ to bully #HigherEd
Opportunity for public transparency - Please lead #uiowa, there are great HR professionals who are already on the payroll who are fully equipped and capable to conduct a presidential search - no diverting the #publicgood through a #private contract with a firm
