For me, as a Palestinian, this is not news.

When I read “close to 300,” I know they are referring to the Al-Hasayna and Abu Sharia families in November 2023, and the Abu Nasser family in October 2024.

I know they are also referring to the Jabalia massacre on October 31, 2023, when around 400 people were killed, injured, or went missing. I was close to 500 meters away from the massacre when it happened.

We have been telling these stories over and over again, for years. But nothing has held Israel accountable for its war crimes.

And now these Israeli soldiers are breaking their silence. After what?

Was one of them involved in the killing of my great-aunt and her family? My wife’s great-uncle and his family? My second cousins and their families? My father-in-law?

You need to break the bones of the system behind this evil. Break the warplanes. Break the tanks. Break the artillery.
