Democrats should make it their mission to make super PACs just as politically toxic as corporate PACs, especially in our primary elections.
Our democracy has been bought and sold, and our party is complicit. No wonder people are exhausted by our politics.
"We've got probably $10 million that's gonna be spent by the major PACs that are going to be playing in this race, and I just think about what that could be used for instead."

You deserve representation with moral clarity and unwavering values. I will always put the interests of the people above those of giant corporations and foreign governments, but my opponents can’t say the same. #chicago#progressive#il07
DOJ dropping Ticketmaster is an embarrassment. This is one of the most obvious and hated monopolies in America. They own 80%+ of the major concert venue ticketing in America. LiveNation owns 60%+ of concert promotion and the top venues. 40 States joined the case. The only solution was to break up Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
This settlement is a slap on the wrist, paid for by lobbyists. This is what Roger Alford warned about when he was fired for getting in the way of the lobbyist funded settlement of HPE Juniper. This is what Gail Slater warned about before she was fired just a couple weeks ago.
This isn’t even partisan: progressive and MAGA enforcers, D and R states alike oppose the settlement.
The only winner here is the corporate class that has found a way to purchase immunity with lobbyists.
Ticket prices will continue go up. Artist pay will continue to fall.
This is part of the same story of fascism: impunity for ICE agents and wealthy oligarchs alike. The only rule is that the people close to power get to do whatever they want.
Yikes. Called out a lie in press release by @drthomasfisher today and got blocked by an advisor to the super PAC backing him. Extremely weird behavior in #IL07 and doesn’t change the fact that @reed_showalter has almost double his donors and no dark money.
@DumpTrump_45@user64818364 Right, but by that logic the inclusion of Anabel Mendoza and not Reed is hard to understand. Also, just want to point out if you’re polling at 10% in early January after running 3 times, and have less than $5k cash on hand, that 10% is probably closer to a ceiling than a floor.
@DumpTrump_45@user64818364 Anyway, just doing my due diligence by noting that the poll was commissioned before people were paying attention and before any candidate started seriously advertising. Reed is the best-resourced progressive and has been getting his message out there. Don’t count him out.
