Hi new followers! I'm a PhD student of ancient Maya glyphs and art. I tweet about Latin America, Mesoamerica, indigenous rights, art history, and (occasionally) critical approaches to Mormonism. I also run a blog and podcast where I share academic research on Mesoamerica.

At a writing retreat and I just watched a colleague look up from their book, scrunch their forehead deep in thought, come back to the present with a snap, and grab a Post-It to jot down whatever conclusion they had come to. I love watching academics work.

6 job applications submitted, 2 postdoc applications drafted, 2 article manuscripts with edits due this week, and a dept presentation on Friday- while teaching 2 survey courses and finishing my dissertation. Stay tuned to find out if I survive the last year of grad school!
