The weird thing with OAI not releasing a step-change model like Fable is that they have plenty of capacity. Codex has incredibly high limits that are hard to hit even when using fast mode all the time. Meanwhile, Anth was constrained for ages, and they are still somewhat constrained, even after buying out XAI's DC.

Where's the big model from OAI? The economics of the situation don't make sense, they don't have a reason to hold back on a big model.

The only explanation is that they are having human capital problems due to the ongoing talent bleed to Anth.

🚨JUST IN: Illegal Sudanese migrant Rasheed Rahman randomly murdered grandfather Mark Carroll, 55, in an unprovoked stabbing in north London.

The Independent has revealed today that only three days prior to the murder in 2024, Rasheed was released on bail for randomly punching two members of the public. Just one day before that attack, he was arrested for throwing a brick through a church window.

Rahman was known to Romford mental health services and had suffered from drug psychosis as a result of alcohol and drug misuse.

It isn't clear when Rasheed arrived in the UK, but when he was discovered he was granted temporary leave to remain in the UK until March 2028.

On the day before the stabbing, Rasheed took a knife from the office of the supported housing building he was living in, which was logged by staff as residents were not allowed to have knives.

If you want to make sense of the Henry Nowak murder, you need to understand the clan-based morality that South Asians operate under.

Here's a question: your family member is speeding in a car. They hit and kill someone. The police ask you what happened. Do you lie and protect your family, or do you tell the truth?

Probably for you, this is a genuine conundrum. You value adherence to "truth," and to violate this goes against something deep inside you.

For clannish societies, this isn't a problem at all. Lie and protect your family.

The discomfort you would feel from lying, they would feel that from NOT lying. Truth is not some divine principle to adhere to for them. That's clan loyalty. If truth serves clan loyalty, use it. If it doesn't, don't use it.
