Almost a day passed and Russia still hasn’t provided any plausible evidence to its accusations of Ukraine’s alleged “attack on Putin’s residence.” And they won’t. Because there’s none. No such attack happened.
We were disappointed and concerned to see the statements by Emirati, Indian, and Pakistani sides expressing their concerns regarding the attack that never happened.
It is even more surprising given that all three states failed to issue any official statements when a real Russian missile struck the real Ukrainian government building on September 7, 2025.
Russia has a long record of false claims — it’s their signature tactic. For instance, Russia claimed it wouldn’t attack Ukraine in the beginning of 2022. They also often accuse others of what they themselves plan to do. Their words should never be taken at face value.
Such reactions to Russia’s baseless manipulative claims only play into Russian propaganda and encourage Moscow for more atrocities and lies.
We call on all states to act responsibly and refrain from responding to unverified claims — this undermines the constructive peace process that has been advancing lately.
By equating the European Union with the Third Reich—a regime responsible for systematic genocide, concentration camps, and World War II—Elon Musk not only trivializes the unspeakable horrors of National Socialism but also devalues any serious debate about regulation and democracy.
It's like comparing a speed limit to the Gestapo: absurd, tasteless, and intellectually bankrupt. The EU is not a totalitarian monstrosity but an alliance of 27 democracies that emerged after the horrors of the 20th century—including the Holocaust unleashed by Germany—to ensure peace, prosperity, and human rights. Billions of euros are invested in climate protection, social welfare systems, and civil liberties, while Musk's X (formerly Twitter) has degenerated into a digital madhouse under his leadership: hate speech flourishes, fake news runs rampant, and journalists are silenced.
Who is the censor here?
Musk, who portrays himself as a freedom fighter while taking legal action in Europe for ignoring EU laws like the Digital Services Act—laws designed to combat the very kind of propaganda he now promotes—is making a comparison that is not only historically inaccurate but cynical. It ignores the fact that the EU was built from the ruins of the Third Reich to make such dictatorships impossible forever.
Musk, a billionaire who benefits from US subsidies and grew up in apartheid-era South Africa, should focus on his own hubris. Instead of resorting to cheap provocations to grab attention, he could build a spaceship that doesn't explode—or at least a tweet that doesn't cross the line of good taste.
Such pronouncements don't make him a hero; they make him a populist jester. It's time he stopped instrumentalizing history and learned what respect for victims truly means.
@elonmusk You can make deals with russia, because everything is a deal if you act like the CEO of everything, while EU has rules. It's slow in decisions but is the best peace/cooperation org that the World has/had in its history
@elonmusk You are worried about the EU and Europe because they are going in the wrong directions according to the WH document few days ago. While actually you are worried that in case of this EU actually becomes a federal state it would be a problem for US
@kadmitriev ping - x/twitter is banned in Russia - that is not censorship? The debate between the EU and Elon is not about free speech; Elon did not follow some rules while operating his biz on a market and got a fine. The "free" speach is something he loves so much, as russia does :/
American critics of European democratic shortcomings would have more credibility if they also criticized democratic shortcomings in the US and autocratic repression in Russia, China and Saudi Arabia. Otherwise, they just sound like businessmen trying to make money.
@KurtSchlichter Just 23 years ago, Europeans fought next to the USA after 9/11 - free speech and democracy are both very free in Europe, more than you think, and more than is presented to you by Elon. The fact that there are some regulations of social media meant to protect people is not bad.
The only time Article 5 of the NATO Treaty was invoked was to defend us, not for us to defend Europe. European soldiers and civilians died fighting with us and working next to us in Afghanistan. Europe was not attacked on September 11, 2001.
X is not a "free speech" platform.
It's a propaganda tool used by billionaires and dictators to manipulate the chronically stupid.
and most accounts are bots and crypto scams anyway
The EU should ban it altogether.
Dear American friends, Europe is your closest ally, not your problem. And we have common enemies. At least that’s how it has been in the last 80 years. We need to stick to this, this is the only reasonable strategy of our common security. Unless something has changed.
