@LundukeJournal fork away bro your psychosis induced ramblings are tiring i miss when you were talking about microsoft's embrace extend extinguish shit. the people have determined that the kernel is inclusive to all and respects science but if you dont like that it is open source
@The_Bunny_Doll i see so many horrible self deprecating tweets from you and many other ppl on here and they make me so sad i wish you guys didnt experience such insane pain
@PinClock@I_Love_Jogging@NowasHusbando those are two examples of machine learning i know of off the top of my head as someone in medical IT that have been transformative and undeniably good for humanity
@PinClock@I_Love_Jogging@NowasHusbando so you would say that the medical advanced in radiology for example that have came from machine learning have hurt society? that's a huge one, the game has changed completely in that field. what about protein folding simulations that we use to try and understand more about cancer
@PinClock@I_Love_Jogging@NowasHusbando I don't like how AI is used by big corporations I think they use it as an excuse to try and act nimble shoehorning it into everything and many things in society we've already near perfected are regressing as a result of it, but still, you gotta look to the future
@PinClock@I_Love_Jogging@NowasHusbando without electricity we wouldnt have modern society and so much of modern society is based on inventions that were possible because of electricity. we went from something that just provided light to an entire world we shape with ingenuity and perseverance
People who are surprised by Linus pro-AI take don't know his history. He is consistently pragmatic when it comes to software.
It's why the Kernel is GPL2-only (not 2 or 3, which is the default phrasing).
It's why it ships binary blobs instead of rejecting everything proprietary.
But also notice how he didn't say that we should stop reading the code, or that it's time to tokenmaxx and push 10k lines a day. It's a tool, use it responsibly!
@LexaCola1 it will happen there are plenty of people out there that arent horrible and its increasing in numbers im speaking from real lived experience from one of the most unlikely places you can think of
