@AmandaHeldOpelt@combstaylor_ It doesn't help that we were in the city and small to begin with. But it did feel like we were going against the grain of the culture in too many ways to survive.
@AmandaHeldOpelt@combstaylor_ The church my husband pastored just closed due to people moving away primarily, as well as some wanting more to be happening, while acknowledging that we were a church that cared for each other. This is a real question for us.
@sometimesalight This has been one of the most troubling things to me in the past few years- the lack of truthfulness (or realization that they're passing on untruths) even from folks who on the other hand affirm Truth with a capital T. It mostly makes me so sad.
10/10 would recommend cultivating faith in God’s fatherly providence. Breeds patience in adversity, thankfulness in prosperity, and in all circumstances good hope for the future.
