Unbelievably honored to announce that I am translating for Ikoku Nikki. I think I must be dreaming. Tomoko Yamashita’s word choices are delightful and carry so much weight. It’s a challenge I don’t take lightly, and I will do my absolute best to do this brilliant series justice.
In the room for the @SquareEnixBooks Yuu Toyota (Cherry Magic, A Starlit Darkness mangaka) panel at #ax2026 and it looks like they’ve figured out an… innovative way to deal with a photo shy manga creator on stage… 😘
Kobo leading me to Storygraph. Wanna recover my full reading record but meanwhile it says of me:
"Mainly reads fiction books that are emotional, reflective, and adventurous. Typically chooses medium-paced books that are 300-499 pages long."
@galeforcing YES! I just finished Ascot's Clown End and (not what I'd do but) YOOOO. The plotting's actually been pretty good, but I'm also being unorthodox by tackling unlocked routes first. (Alfred and Edward have to wait after the Truth.)
Mistonia's Hope honestly rocks, holy shit, Otomate finally hit my biases. Whoever has been encouraging thoroughly developed bad ends as of late, keep going, the target audience is me
@chuualacream If enough panels attract you, it's worth going once even solo. It pressure-tests your priorities but even that with the mad logistics was kinda fun. I liked to chat/hype with manga and game localizers too, so wasn't just for big JP guests.
Page 0: Asou Mitsuki manga adaptation! It'll be great!
End of volume 1: art's a bit old, some heavy stuff, but alright.
Midway Volume 2: oh God bad circumstances, and brutal, AND it'll never get licensed
(2026 releases just don't operate like this)
