Homelessness is mostly a problem for those of us who have homes and businesses. For those of us who feel entitled to safety and security in our communities. It’s not a problem for all the homeless people. Many of them don’t want a home. How much time have you spent with street people? Doing the hustle? Playing the game? It’s a lifestyle. A duplex, tiny home or cheap apartment will not fix the problem. It won’t end the game. There are too many variables such as drugs, crime, and mental health issues. No, homelessness is not the problem, it’s the solution for many people, it’s community, it’s belonging, it’s being seen by someone who knows what it’s like. It’s inside work that is required to reverse homelessness, it’s a mindset, not a condition.
Governor Ferguson’s illegal actions along with the endorsement of the progressive left, allowed these people into the country without providing any explanation of the possible consequences. Ferguson and company only have themselves to blame for the deportations of these men and families they both pity and exploit for political gain. Ferguson et al. Will exploit, use, and abuse any person, group, entity or law, including their families, as fair trade for a someone’s heartstrings that create division and hate. That is governmental corruption and needs to be called out. Laws are not about feelings, fairness, or equity, none of those things can be legislated. Actions can. With poor choices come consequences, illegal aliens made poor choices to come here thinking they would get free food, education, healthcare, and other entitlements, that is a crime and they are being told no. Progressives, it is time you be told no, too.
@orangmanviad No more tax payers money for illegal aliens, enough is enough and this has gone on for far too long, especially in WA state. No more tuition, health care, food, or shelter. The United States is not a one-stop shopping mall for all your needs.
Ms. Murray is speaking to uninformed voters who know nothing other than what is right in front of them. There is no conceptualization of what the democrats and the tax and spend policies are doing to small businesses. Any one of those Bellingham business owners, if you looked at them and said, “you are paying too much, right?” They would nod their head in agreement. Ask any leading question to any uninformed voter and they will agree with whatever you are selling that day. Why do you think WA state is run by - and I will not call anyone a name - the individuals it is. They did not earn their positions, their positions were purchased for them.
What these young ladies are saying is true. Social media teaches self-hatred, creates a stigma that one is never enough, that life is nothing more than chasing after the elusive job, drug, prize, position, etc and then you will be happy. And yet, the government has no business playing parent to our children. Parents, time for some boundaries and rules. No is a complete sentence and it is not our job to make our kids feel good. We are tasked with raising responsible adults and that is hard! One thing life guarantees is a walk, uphill in a snow storm both ways. Our kids need to learn that and it is not social media’s job or the government’s job to teach them. We are responsible for that lesson.
Nothing has changed in WA state. Children are dancing in the halls honoring transgender people, school records are being withheld from parents, children are disappearing and the schools are not cooperating with the parents to assist in finding their child because that child may want to change their gender. WA state will never see a charter school, the governor will see to that, The Superintendent for Public Instruction does not believe in biology and thinks gender is a fluid concept which should be taught beginning in kindergarten. Public schools in WA are underfunded by 52% because the OSPI does not have the money - the governor is spending it elsewhere. I got out of teaching as soon as I could, and the kids were not the problem, the bureaucracy was the problem.
@PattyMurray You lack the understanding of what the work hypocrite means and I suggest that before you use such a word and call someone a name, you know the label you are placing on them. A person such as yourself who calls people names as a way to defend their lack of integrity is a bully.
YOU DO REALIZE THAT THE 8 MILLION PEOPLE LOSING MEDICAID, AND THE 3 MILLION "LOSING" SNAP BENEFITS ARE NOT ENTITILED TO THOSE BENEFITS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
@fox13seattle No one is stuck, lets reframe this. It is a choice. People that choose to stay in a job where health insurance is provided are not victims. They are making a choice.
TRUMP JUST REPOSTED JFK’S MOST TERRIFYING SPEECH — AND THE DEEP STATE IS PANICKING
JFK saw it coming. In 1961. And now, Trump has just made sure 300 million Americans see it, too.
What I find so interesting about Rep. Suzan DelBene, Patty Murray, and Maria Cantwell, is they cannot mention one tax they have lowered for the entire state, one system they have implemented that supports the family unit, or anything they have done that contributes to bringing down the cost of gas, yet, they are able to peddle President Trump’s name in earnest lies with every breath they have. I am genuinely curious what would happen if they turned their attention to the state that put them in office instead of defaming the President. And consider for a moment, even if these women are correct with all their facts - AND THEY ARE NOT - their behaviors are a reflection of their character. Why do WA residents continue to vote for people with this type of character?
I read this on fb and I wanted to share it with you all. Nailed it on the head. 👇
As I had my morning coffee, I realized that everything is about to change. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, something evil has invaded our nation, and our lives are never going to be the same.
I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life--so hate-filled that they agree with opinions they would never express as their own. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone.
You can't justify this insanity. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind!
• If a man pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.
• Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.
• Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good.
• It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquires about it.
• People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.
• People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.
• Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.
• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.
• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.
• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.
• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.
• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.
• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.
• Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.
• And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"?!
Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China.
We are clearly living in an upside down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right.
Wake up America, the great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water, and is sinking fast. The choice is yours to make. What will it be? Time is short, make your choice wisely!
@GovBobFerguson@WAStateGov From all I read, Bob Ferguson and company choose to break any federal law they disagree with. I fail to understand why they are in office and not in prison.
@GovBobFerguson I'm a bit confused - you start out saying that our US Supreme Court who judges based on the constitution and the laws written by Congress said President Trump could end TPS. Are you saying you are opposing this legal work of our Federal Government - so opposing the federal gov?
@AGOWA 12,000Washington customers, and $750,000, I take that to mean 12,000 has to divide the $750,000? If they do it equally, and I don’t know the details, that is $62.50 per person. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong.
I am so grateful for all of the people that vaccinated and believe in the vaccination. They believe they will not contract Covid, nor will they pass it along to anyone. They are impenetrable. I am confused as to why the vaccinated, since they believe in and stand by the science, are so afraid of the unvaccinated? It is my understanding that if you’re vaccinated, you’re protected. If I’m not vaccinated, I am not protected and perhaps can contract Covid. You can’t get it. Why are you not concerned about me?
@AGOWA Washington needs an insurance commissioner that will work for the people and not for the approval of the litigious democrats. I do not approve of my tax dollars being spent on these unwarranted lawsuits.
Homelessness: In late 2023, it was reported that WA spent $143 MILLION to get 126 individuals off the streets, while former Gov. Inslee was requesting an additional $100 million more. That's over $1.1 MILLION PER PERSON. #tbt
WA has spent OVER $4 BILLION as the problem worsens. Keep this in mind as Legislative Democrats keep trying raising YOUR taxes to spend even more.
We have advocated in the budget and in legislation to use taxpayers’ dollars wisely to fund diversion, drug treatment, and non-profits with effective track records tackling homelessness. We have also pushed for legislation to outlaw "safe" injection sites allowing the usage of hard drugs.
