What an AWESOME first day in history! My students jumped right into big questions about freedom, government, power, & what makes a society work. They debated, questioned, challenged ideas, and made me laugh along the way. Best year ever! @risdsocstu@ljhpatriots#RISDDreamOn
Come play with history! 🎉 Join me during Session 3 of GROW (July 22 & 23) for Hands On, Minds On, where we'll explore manipulatives that spark historical thinking—not just engagement. Hope to see you there! #SocialStudies#EdTech#risddreamon
Today reminded me why I love teaching history. I am so incredibly proud of my students during our Mock Trial of the Declaration of Independence. They asked thoughtful questions, defended arguments, challenged ideas respectfully and rose to the challenge beautifully! @ljhpatriots
8th-grade social studies teacher Cate Chesser brings the Declaration of Independence to life through student mock trials—an engaging way to review big ideas, evidence, and civic learning! We enjoyed serving on the jury! @IamBranum@KristinLeeper9@RichardsonISD#RISDDreamBig
Putting my classroom to bed after a great first day is wonderful. Here's to a year of dreaming big and making dreams come true. #risddreambig@ljhpatriots
Somedays of professional learning just help you feel the sparkle and shine of a new school year. Here's to dreaming big in RISD! #pause#RISDDreamBig#PLinRISD@RichardsonISD
@DecatHazel@eduleadership@JayWamsted I disagree to a point. High performers do need specialized instruction and to be pushed. They deserve intervention, too. It just looks different.
@Plinker011@1776ProjectPac How would you feel if your child was receiving special education services and now your neighbor knew? If your child had a bad day and the entire community knew it? Students have the right to privacy under federal law.
@BEVERLYANGEL@1776ProjectPac Yep. I answer questions about the bill of rights, declaration of independence, geography, economics and more while keeping my personal views to myself. I listen regularly to students who I disagree with and never tell them. It's not my place. Total overhype.
