I signed up for @Twitter in 2008. It was early days of social media & “Web 2.0” and my consulting boss had me create an account for work

Back then, @aplusk + @SHAQ were the most notable people on Twitter and @BarackObama was still following everyone back

If you’re wondering why Twitter is still up & running with the majority of hardcore engineers gone, it’s because many exceptional engineers over the years gave it all they had to ensure the platform scaled under any conditions.
