SSPX apologists one week ago: we aren’t in schism, because the excommunications were lifted, and we were given faculties for confession, which proves we are in communion
SSPX apologists now that both of those things are no longer true: we’re still not in schism because crisis
We’ve inherited a dating culture that no longer knows what it’s doing because it no longer knows what dating is for. And when a thing loses its purpose—it’s telos—it becomes useless, pointless, or both.
“I fain would love Thee my Jesus, but I do not know how. I shall never love Thee if Thou doest not help me, my Jesus. I would fain find Thee, my Jesus, and I do not know the way.”
-St. Philip Neri
Postscript: All of my followers should become aware of how psychological warfare works. Avert from every doctrinal revisionist who plays "I'm not touching you" with heresy, every overly carnally concerned poster, every ragebaiter, every engagement farmer, with total prejudice.
If you take two steps back, we can see very clearly how this side of Catholic twitter is embroiled in a psychological hell-scape. I will use two examples in "discourse" one as it blunts the will and the other in darkening the intellect.
So I made some traddy trads angry today.
The more conservative one is, the stronger the irascible appetite will tend to be. Hope, fear, despair, daring, and ANGER.
The immoderate irascible appetite is not as blinding to the realities of the spiritual life as the concupiscible, but it more easily pushes one deeper into subtle intellectual errors and thus is generally more difficult to extract oneself from with respect to spiritual faults. That's why so few come back from sedevacantism as compared to debauchery.
@ContraMolinism The hobbyists and dilettantes of the Thomist Neo-scholastic “revival” deserve all the mockery in the world. They delight in their vain knowledge which they use to scandalize and frighten the timid, torment consciences, and exalt themselves over others.
@SlabsBaconGroyp you shouldnt apologize for "percieved" attacks if you havent done anything wrong. people will take offense to all kinds of nonsense, especially if it hurts their ego or challenges their world view, and then insist that its your fault for being malicious, even if you werent.
People rip on this because you can make multiple burgers at home, but the funny part is that a McDonald's cheeseburger is like 3.50 and the at home cheese burger is 1.50-2.50 meaning the amount you save vs time, clean up, etc is basically nil due to grocery inflation. You don't get a drink and fries on the right hand side so the "combo meal price" is irrelevant.
Yeah yeah make it at home if you're not busy, on a fixed income, feeding your family etc. But if you're a single working person and it's on the way home, it is cheaper sometimes.
Life isn't about proving to boomers you struggle hard enough to deserve buying a house, it's about minmaxing your time, skillset, and money.
