Many people who need concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat cancer have to travel from all over the north-northwest to Galway to access radiotherapy.

Thankfully from Monday to Friday, “the lodge” @cancercarewest provide accommodation for many of these patients.

If you have not driven from Donegal to Galway before, believe me, it is an experience, of 4 hours duration.

Had to advise 3 patients with BMIs >35 that they don't meet HSE criteria for Saxenda.
Despite the health multiple risks posed by their weight inc future cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, they can't access treatment.
