Happy International Nurses Day to all my lovely colleagues and friends 🩷 delighted to win a prize in the showcase today.
It was fantastic being able to present my poster on - Weight Loss outcomes post Bariatric Surgery: does the MDT approach make a difference?
One of the top priorities for us at ICPO is providing and directing our community to support from peers.
We are strict in our messgaing -we do not give advice to each other, but we ARE experts in living with overweight or obesity and can help by sharing our own journey.
Our meetings are for those living in Ireland who live with, or are affected by obesity.
If you want to share with your patients please do!
Registration is necessary for capacity at venues.

Many people who need concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat cancer have to travel from all over the north-northwest to Galway to access radiotherapy.
Thankfully from Monday to Friday, “the lodge” @cancercarewest provide accommodation for many of these patients.
If you have not driven from Donegal to Galway before, believe me, it is an experience, of 4 hours duration.
In addition to existing services, there is a new bus transfer service from Letterkenny to UHG, launching 6th August, supported by https://t.co/v2WBxgicjv
Your UHG appointment letter is your free bus ticket, provided you book in advance!
Fair play to the organisers…

The sigma patients are facing while trying to get this life changing drug for people living with obesity is not to be desired. People living with obesity have informed me of how they have been treated and it is shocking to say the least!
Tonight on #rtept, the HSE's national clinical lead for obesity, Professor Donal O'Shea, discussed how he believes what others have termed a "wonder drug," Ozempic, should be used.
Well done to @FrancisFinucane on a fantastic interview highlighting the importance of weight loss medication on #primetime tonight and how this impacts patients in Obesity service 👏 Delighted to be part of such a passionate and caring team 🙌🏻
