People say a picture is worth a thousand words, well, this picture is worth $16,000 - that was our vet bill for last month. We really need your help now by donating to support our kitten rescue and TNR programs!
Our Kitten Rescue Team posted this collage a couple of weeks ago to show you the first big group of kittens we have available for adoption. All of these beautiful babies were born to community cats living outdoors, and we have had them in foster homes for months, ensuring they survived, remained healthy, received all their vaccinations and any vet care they needed. Some struggled, some needed extra care, but all of them are now healthy, happy, and ready for a long life ahead.
All of their moms, as well as the other cats in the colony were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for various medical conditions before being returned to their outdoor homes, better off than when we found them. We had a slew of major medical cases over the past few months - eye removals, amputations, major dental extractions, massive ear and sinus infections that required surgery, infected wounds from tangling with wildlife, and more. It has been a particularly challenging year, with 3 successive months of medical costs over $10,000 - higher than we have ever encountered for a sustained period of time.
This post kicks off a summer fundraising campaign to raise $15,000 to help cover medical expenses for TNR and necessary vet care. We are asking for donations, and we will also be running online raffles, an online Pampered Chef party, and anything else we can think of to help raise funds to continue our life-saving programs.
