"In general, people should recognize that if you say something where you caveat it and hedge it and basically end up saying something that most people would agree with, you might as well have said nothing at all."
- Palmer Luckey
the more one focuses on the future or the past, the more thoughts there are now
thinking and AI should stay second-order servants of processing power to a playful, harmonious mindstate
@Grimezsz I think everyone experiences this all the time, to the point where each of us just assumes others to be agentic conscious players instead of knowing it, but for some socially empathic feeling-projection normies feel to stay connected
Physics is how we discover technology.
Engineering is how we invent technology.
Economics is how we produce and consume technology.
Politics and Law is how we self-arrange power over technology.
Except for the arts and culture, the history of humanity is basically our history with technology.
Our minds are not just interpreting reality, they are above all creating a real-time simulation of everything, which we call reality.
We theorize some things to be done by others for us to experience, or that external reality is objective and independent from the observer, when really *others* is precisely our own minds.
The mysterious creator of the Simulation in which we live is just our minds.
The mysterious God that we keep praying, celebrating and imprecating is just our minds' focal point for projecting reality.
The mysterious far away intelligent alien strange forms of life that might equally be extremely technologically developed or long extinct is just us.
The mysterious final judgement that puts us in heaven or hell is just our morals and mood.
The "Mysterium tremendum et fascinans" is not out there, it's what we don't know about our own minds.
Everything is like a dream.
The deepest beliefs imbued into the mind of a newborn baby, with his genetic heritage, set the direction and amplitude of his life trajectory; even his purpose. His choices through life are as fundamental but not as foundational.
The singularity has always been here: accelerating recursive self-improvement loops leading to [predictable yet] unknowable outcomes.
The third derivative of the speed of change is now peaking to a meaningful and sensible degree. AI is accelerating faster and faster.
Last day at xAI.
xAI's mission is push humanity up the Kardashev tech tree. Grateful to have helped cofound at the start. And enormous thanks to @elonmusk for bringing us together on this incredible journey. So proud of what the xAI team has done and will continue to stay close as a friend of the team. Thank you all for the grind together. The people and camaraderie are the real treasures at this place.
We are heading to an age of 100x productivity with the right tools. Recursive self improvement loops likely go live in the next 12mo. Itβs time to recalibrate my gradient on the big picture. 2026 is gonna be insane and likely the busiest (and most consequential) year for the future of our species.
