@bbeeeeeepp@Biyombonesaw No, they said the distinction (between blood diamond vs not-blood diamond) is meaningless. If you want to say, “the diamond industry writ large is evil and I’m glad they’re closing down”, I’d agree. Making blood diamond a definitionless term is stupid
@johanstrauss89 De Beers is an evil company and the world would be better if they didn’t exist. Calling South African diamond mines “the blood diamond industry” is expanding the term blood diamond to such a broad degree as to be worthless.
@patrician_tv Imagine if they’re trying to do a No Man’s Sky, going radio silent like this. Which, they already tried to do with Starfield, and it failed. Let alone that NMS’s “redemption” was mostly a meme anyways
@lukeisamazing De Beers doesn’t sell blood diamonds, they follow the UN mandate against them. And South African diamonds, definitionally, are not blood diamonds, as they’re not being sold to fund a war/conflict/etc.
@gracecthdralprk This would be so true if not for the last time a major party chose their candidate at a convention rather than by primary, it was so they could subvert popular opinion and field a candidate who was in favor of the Vietnam War
@itsmoomoo22@Post_Ioism Apparently it’s ESO, so related, but the elf just looks like a human with pointy ears which is not what any kind of elf looks like in Elder Scrolls. They all look more alien than that
@Dmuniz231@Bob_Somebody021 Franco lasted a long time but that was mostly because the army was totally loyal to him and everyone was terrified of another civil war. And when he was old, the Spanish dictatorship was a bit comically incompetent. Franco’s right hand man got blown up very dramatically in 1973
@bennydrillwife @melanie12122007@chromatyda Yes, it’s a very horrible condition. And it was an absolute death sentence before the 1980s or so. But for a congenital illness, it is very rare, a 0.0003% chance. And there are worse congenital illnesses that might make someone consider abortion.
@bennydrillwife @melanie12122007@chromatyda 80% of infants born with this condition survive with modern medicine. It is a lifelong serious condition that shortens life expectancy, and it looks horrific, but people do not live their whole lives with ripped skin etc. They have very thin pink skin.
@Poslanetsss This is a slop map not worth interacting with. “Caesar” was never used in Italy (and in Rome, the title was Augustus), “Han” has never been the title of the ruler of China, basically everything in the middle east / central asia is wrong
