@atelicinvest Appreciate your willingness to change your mind. What are some of the better examples of people building internal software that you’re able to share?
Haven’t seen much other than what folks at some buyside firms plus semianalysis have done but I follow this less closely
Maybe the issue is that Claude has dialed down the effort across the board, but I’m still seeing flashes of genius with opus 4.8 max effort in cowork.
Still other times when I’ve seen it make up numbers it should be extracting, but maker/checker makes it work
@kylehtucker Totally agree but it’s interesting how many firms/investor have attempted this with (mostly) lackluster returns (tho qqq is a hard bench for sure). Hard to tell if it’s just that these funds are too big, or get distracted by being VCs on the side or what
Finally got my first “it’s getting late on your end” from Claude
Finally joining the cool kids, guess I’m burning the socially acceptable amount of tokens
@endowment_eddie 3 just makes it easier to fire them when they come back with 2x the fund size and try to move to a segment of the market they’ve never invested in before
@Larryjamieson_ Wdym by construct? It can be helpful in pressure testing your thinking in some cases
Like all llm output, if you don’t think critically about the first thing it gives you it’s not going to be any good, but that’s not the only way to use it
Lots of people still flying spirit or buying United basic economy and not even getting a carry on bag, but sure, no one will be willing to take a flight without wifi for a lower cost
Man Jensen is such an asshole on the dwarkesh pod. Great at keeping the PR face on, but it’s a little annoying to listen to the argument since it doesn’t go anywhere
