In your 20’s?
Living alone?
Working a 9-5?
Use your salary as funding for your goals.
If you fail, live on 2min noodles.
You can afford to fail now, so do it.
Someone once told me this story from a game reserve in South Africa—and it stuck with me.
They had to relocate young elephants after culling in Kruger. Easier to move the juveniles, so the big older bulls stayed behind.
A few years later, those young males started going wild: hyper-aggressive, killing rhinos, charging vehicles—total chaos. No structure, no guidance.
Then rangers brought in some mature older bulls.
Almost overnight, the young ones calmed down.
Started following the elders, learning how to behave like proper elephants.
We need that in our lives too.
Elders to look up to. Mentors who’ve been through the grind, sharing wisdom so we don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Marcus Aurelius nailed it 2000 years ago...
Don't wait to feel motivated. Just put yourself in motion.
That's how real habits (and higher VO2 Max) are built.
Science backs it: Dr. Huberman says attaching reward to the effort itself rewires your brain for long-term discipline. Dr. Rhonda Patrick shows vigorous movement is the #1 way to improve cardiorespiratory fitness and longevity.
Start small, stay consistent.

“Do not labour as if you were wretched, nor yet as though you should be pitied or admired but direct your will to one thing only: to put yourself in motion and to check yourself, as the social reason requires.” - Marcus Aurelius
@RyanHoliday I created my Stoic wallpaper pack with some of the quotes that helped me get through 2025. 🔥
My favourite one is a quote from God of War.

We all have our New Year's resolutions.
I personally don't agree with them though.
Rather set 2026 goals for yourself instead of New Year's resolutions—there's a big difference between:
"From January 1st, I will start this, this, and that."
And
"My goals for 2026 are..."
Make it your goal to increase your fitness and your VO2 Max!
75% off on my beginner guide on how to increase your VO2 Max, start exercising again, and most importantly
Build the HABIT of exercising.
This paves the way for a better lifestyle instead of a chore.

Want to restart fitness from absolute zero… but actually stick with it this time?
Most plans overwhelm beginners and kill motivation fast.
This one doesn’t.
It’s built for people who’ve been off the wagon for years and need to rebuild the HABIT first — because habit > motivation every time (Huberman 101).
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
— Seneca
Most people wait for the perfect moment to start.
The Stoics knew: you create the opportunity by doing the hard thing today.
One ride. One habit. One disciplined choice.
That’s how your future self is built.

Happy holidays everyone and enjoy the time with your family and friends.
Next year will be another big opportunity, but let’s not forget the last few days of 2025.
It’s how you end that matters the most.
Let’s wrap it up!
Finally got my VO2 max back where it belongs 🔥
VO2 max—your body's max oxygen utilization—is one of the strongest predictors of longevity (often beating diet or inactivity—top cardio marker per studies).
If you're starting or restarting, make elevating VO2 max your north star.
@Stoicfitnessza I exercise at least 3-4 times per week. The only things that prohibit this for me are getting sick or injured. I do, however, know people who are simply not interested in exercising and living a healthy life.
Some aren't really that committed or don't know how or where to start.
