Reminder: Just because the media aren't reporting transfer movement, it doesn't mean nothing is happening. Remember the lack of coverage on Ederson? United are working hard in the background.
This is just to try ease panic in the past days.
A lot made from certain fan channels.
As @SullyTalkz, @UtdNadd, @CCTransfers16 & @shaunconnolly85 have reported over the past two weeks, Manchester United have been in talks with Mateus Fernandes & working on this deal for months.
The consensus is he's very keen on joining & the club believe he is giving them priority over other clubs following talks with his reps, with Fernandes seeing the opportunity to join United as his dream move.
It's also clear this is the club's #1 priority & the thing they are working on right now. They've put in ground work, Bruno Fernandes (his idol) & Diogo Dalot have been speaking to him also. That matters.
A player this good is always going to have interest across Europe & fierce competition for him. Fee has been mentioned as key & West Ham have set their asking price publicly.
Now only time will tell if a middle ground will be found & all the work on this deal will pay off, but personally I'm not going to overreact to every new report 🤷♂️
Genuinely something wrong with our fan base
Man Utd:
“Hello Elliot, would you like to join our club”
Anderson:
“No, I want to join Man City”
Man Utd:
“Ok then, we will move on to our other targets”
Our fan base:
“THE OWNERS FUCKING LOED TO US FOR MONTHS”
Wasn’t what I expected to hear today.
@OmarBerrada mentioning my writing in his interview with @AndyMitten. Thanks Omar, it means a lot to me that it resonated with you.

I don't understand the complaints about Manchester United not bidding for Elliot Anderson. Have people learned nothing from last summer, or the Frenkie de Jong saga? There is no point bidding for a player that has decided they do not want to join the club.
City bid for Anderson because he has clearly indicated that he wants to go there. The reasons? Irrelevant. That is where he wants to go. In the transfer market you bid with encouragement to do so from the players' camp. Why would a meaningless bid be better?
Sadly Anderson hasn't been in briefs for a little while now, it is becoming clear why that was. The club wanted him, did what they could & he picked someone else. That isn't a slight on their ambition. It's the reality that they can't compete with City's wages.
It was the same with Antoine Semenyo. Money talks. Manchester United have not recovered financially from years of transfer & contract mistakes, they still have some on their books. It'll take more time & good season on good season to fix that.
It is often the people complaining the loudest who either don't know how the game is played, or are being actively ignorant about it & don't want to learn.
£60m always felt like the sweet spot on Mateus Fernandes to Manchester United, particularly considering West Ham’s need for immediate cash & him being their major asset.
It’s clear the club have been quietly executing on a plan they decided upon once the season finished, while letting other aspects of the market evolve. They aren’t going to die wondering this summer.
Mateus Fernandes, you’re next up.
