kendall's case makes me so angry because the school found him responsible of forcible rape, suspended him and then he appealed and they still found him guilty but reduced his punishment.
It’s not going to be positioned this way, but we are on the precipice of a millennial revenge era. American public life is about to be dominated by a bunch of 35-45 year olds who are so fucking normal.
I am not seeing this case receive anywhere near the same media coverage as the Cornell 7 despite the situations being extremely similar. This is why I have said we cannot pick and choose what cases make us outraged. All victims deserve justice and deserves the same amount of support.
Cyber warfare via social media has been happening for literal years and it’s time people get with the program and learn to recognize when it’s happening.
The thing is, I don’t care.
I don’t care that a single mom bought her kid a cookie, I don’t care that a person working 40 hours a week bought a Sprite with SNAP, I don’t care that a person less fortunate than me was able to buy beef instead of chicken.
I DO care, that we are supplementing trillion dollar corporations. Why are we funding private businesses? Why can’t they use their own money?
I think about this situation ALL the time. That lady walked into someone else’s apartment by accident, killed him, then the “thin blue line” started talking about well they found marijuana in there. Truly evil shit. I can't believe it's been 8 years
isn’t it just so awesome how corporations are so blatantly helping to set up a surveillance state but we’re supposed to believe that this is the “future” we want
On the rape culture pyramid, objectification is literally at the trivialization stage. Reducing women’s worth to their sexual organs is how sexual violence is born so yes, they absolutely did it
when you materially benefit from exploiting a group of people, you tend to dehumanize them, so that you feel less bad about what you're doing. It's similar to how landlords shit-talk and nitpick their tenants or how westerners villify immigrants from the global south
