@hkateaching@HaleDonal They have potential to be. My understanding of AO3 at L6 is that it 1) deals more in the abstract, e.g. interrogating and debating ideologies and social constructs rather than just stating they exist, and 2) is often arrived at over the course of the essay, not just singularly
@hkateaching@HaleDonal I can see an argument for upper band 5 or lower band 6 tbh, and so do the exam board with the tolerance they allow. Method aside, there’s thoughtful moments but wouldn’t say it’s really conceptualised and interrogatory
@Positivteacha I find this really interesting!
I wrote my PGCE final research piece on the “warrior curriculum” & this exact issue, interviewing teachers from a school who has transitioned *to* L&R and R&J.
@sarahlewisnash@HaleDonal@Team_English1 Yeah. It would take some fairly abstract thinking to apply that extract (her frustration with adults) to her wider difficulties. Not good!
@MissNS_Eng Have you tried explicitly teaching possible idea-generating structures like ‘past, present, future’, or ‘social, economic, moral impacts’ ? 😃
@UniofOxford is the world’s #1 ranked university. Academics at its colleges are regularly paid less than the living wage. We ran a survey this summer about their experiences. The results are damning. Here’s our new report on pay and conditions for casualised staff @ucu#ucurising
A whole year after my cats escaped the cattery they were staying in, 18 miles from home, we have now miraculously found our second cat Max and they are reunited. 😭♥️
@victoria_g_wood Thank you! ♥️ He seems completely fine. Scruffy, dirty. We’ve got a vet coming out to do a house visit on Monday as we think he may have a tooth infection.
