This afternoon, I was on a flight from Montreal to Atlanta. The flight attendant was handing out headphones to anyone who needed them for the onboard entertainment. When she handed me my headphones, I said, “Thank you.” She paused for a moment and said, “Thank you for saying ‘thank you.’ You’re the first person to say it.”
I was disappointed to realize how often we miss opportunities to express gratitude, especially to those who are serving us. About 30 minutes before we landed, she brought me a snack pack with a note that read, “A simple ‘thank you’ can make someone’s day. Thank you for your kindness.”
Please remember to be kind to your fellow human beings. Thank you, Delta @Delta Airlines, for having such thoughtful flight attendants on your team. You’ve earned a loyal customer.
Design tip: Long lines of text are hard to read because it requires a lot of eye movement when jumping to the next line.
Today I learned there are specific guidelines on this:
Avoid more than 75 characters per line.

✅ Avoids unknowingly doing things the hard way
✅ Avoids falling into a rut or succumbing to “group think”
✅ Avoids embarrassing knowledge gaps
✅ Gives me more tools to solve problems
