I wrote a piece on “content” for @DocumentJournal SS24. It’s a 3600 word essay on how no one really reads anymore (lol) and instead scans and senses like machines, and how this is neither good nor bad, but possibly indicative of an evolutionary step
In an essay for our Spring/Summer 2024 issue, Caroline Busta (@cbcb2000) traverses arthouse cinema, Shein, and streaming to explore how the ‘technical image’ is changing the nature of meaning-making.

The crazy thing about the decline of linear media is that it will be all but impossible to study in retrospect; the source material, distributed across the internet and private hard drives like the debris of a plane that exploded mid-flight.
Art institutions and galleries are not particularly aligned with radical politics of any sort. What’s pushed is rarely revolution, liberation, radical social transformation etc. but milquetoast liberal platitudes and the maintenance of the status quo.
My latest "What I'm Looking At" column: Carol Bruns @whitecolumns Rachel Rossin @magentaplains "On the Aesthetic Turn" by @a_n_a_berg, Holographic Media by @cbcb2000@LILINTERNET and @molly__o on what's happening in hotel art https://t.co/gfqMSgRD3g
Berlin! Psyched for July 25, where I'll be in conversation with @harikunzru, @markopilkington and Carly of @newmodels_io about AI, UFOs, "Mirage Men," and all sorts of weird stuff at my exhibition at NBK... https://t.co/QsNzPrgTcy
When I was a teen in the mid-90s, my family moved to NYC. I didn't know a soul but walking around Wash Sq and the LES felt like edging a portal to another universe. 17yo me (& now me) is freaking out right now over this convo, which is like a movie of DT NYC from 1990 to now.

It followed this great rule of humankind: it’s better to have too many people in too small a space than too few in a large space. https://t.co/cN7Vw5IULO
Really good longread by @willystaley on the evolution of @Twitter — replete w/ notes on #weirdtwitter, #blacktwitter, young @jack in mid-00s SF, and a banger analysis by Kevin Munger on the particular media form that Tw innovated.

I have a feeling tonight’s Seaport Talk with CAROLINE BUSTA (@cbcb2000) of NEW MODELS (@newmodels_io) is going to be a good night.
My intro is a Great American Novel. These slides from NEW MODELS’ talk at Global Art Forum Dubai are a psychedelic vision.
