A short while ago, I was more than delighted to speak with our nine comrades who came out of prison today, after six years of illegal detention without trial - Ssekitoleko Yasin Machete, Patrick Mwase, Sharif Kalanzi, Joseph Muwonge, Abdallah Kintu, Umar Emma Kato, Kavuma Musa, Jimmy Galukande and Gibusiwa Abdallah.

These comrades committed no offence, but the criminal regime refused to try them, release them on bail or simply drop the charges against them. Their only crime was supporting me and the @NUP_Ug in the 2021 election! Instead, the regime gave them only one condition- plead guilty or rot in jail. After six years of waiting, they were released on Amnesty - having appeared yet again before the military court, in complete disregard of the Supreme Court ruling that ordered their files to be transferred to ordinary courts. Either way, we are very glad to have them back. I thank everyone who has consistently demanded for their release, as well as those who have supported them and their families in every way. I thank their families for patiently waiting for this day. Aluta continua.

It’s unfortunate that this beautiful country was left in the hands of people shaped by war rather than humanity, men and women who spent their entire life in the bush slaughtering both humans and animals its a real shame that we're facing this today.

The system we face today is deeply entrenched, and changing it will take more than one person—it will require a united effort from all of us.

I mean what sort of nonsense is this when the world has moved to more yielding modes for its people?

Uganda is standing at a crossroads. For too long, the dictatorial regime has tightened its grip on our nation silencing journalists, abducting innocent young people and elderly citizens, and turning fear into a weapon against its own people. These abuses are not just violations of rights; they are attacks on the soul of the Pearl of Africa.

Every day, brave citizens speak out against the media censorship, the night-time abductions, and the systematic intimidation that has become the regime’s trademark. These injustices must end.
The government must stop targeting innocent people, stop suppressing truth, and stop treating Ugandans as enemies in their own homeland.

And to the people of Uganda, hope is not lost.
Many Ugandans believe that once H.E. Bobi Wine becomes president, a new chapter will begin.

A chapter where:
- Freedom of speech is protected, not punished
- Journalists report without fear
- Young people walk safely at night
- Elderly citizens are respected, not terrorized
- Institutions serve the people, not a single family
- Justice replaces impunity
- Unity replaces fear

A new Uganda is possible, one built on dignity, accountability, and the voices of its citizens. But that future will not arrive on its own.
