I saw this video this morning on my feed and I think it so eloquently explains what Charlie Kirk was put on this earth to do.
“When people stop talking, that’s when you get violence, that is when civil war happens”
I hope I'm wrong.
But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn't even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.
Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.
I didn't feel like this when an attempt was made on President Trump's life. If I had to rationalise why I didn't, I guess it's because several US Presidents have been shot at and even assassinated. Somehow it was within the realms of the possible, no matter how awful.
But to murder a young father simply for doing debates and mobilising young people to vote for a party that represents half of America? This is something else.
Charlie's death is a tragedy for his wife, his children and his family. I don't pray often. I am praying for them tonight.
But I fear his murder will be a tragedy for all of us in ways we will only understand as time unfolds.
I hope I'm wrong.
Charlie Kirk, a name synonymous with having the courage to speak what you believe and seek/welcome conversations with those whom you disagree with.
I’m not a political person but I am a proud American citizen and today was startling, saddening, and maddening all at the same time.. I’ve realized that I’m a bit naive to how crazy it all has become but watching a man get hunted and slayed in broad daylight because of his opinions made me disgusted and devastated.
This can’t be what we actually are or become as a country.. I believe that the good people will always outnumber the evil people but damn… today was an alarming day in our country’s history.
2 kids lost a dad.. a wife lost a husband.. and societal discourse lost a voice.
RIP @charliekirk11.. I send my prayers, thoughts, and love to his family and friends.
Your toddler wants you to read that book for the 100th time because they are learning GRAMMAR. As the memorize the words, they are piecing together how their native language works.
I know it gets tiring, but learning a new language is hard - Read that book one more time♥️
That feeling when your girlfriend from high school finally gets engaged.
I used to tell myself: Andrew, it’ll be ok. She wasn’t right for you.
I just hope her husband isn’t some handsome buff football player.
Perhaps the biggest life hack is ignoring all the shortcuts and hacks and simply showing up, getting started, nailing the fundamentals, staying patient, and giving yourself a chance.
@AdrianneCurry@bella6185658528 That's almost definitely a bot; don't pay it any mind. I am so happy to see you THRIVING and free! I loved you on top model and always sensed a profound sadness in you. It warms my heart that you're doing so well now ❤️
No one will convince me that @ScottHanson didn't just take a bathroom break. He was gone for over five minutes!! We love you Scott; it's okay that you're human!
