People need to understand the different types of socialism. There are countries that implement Democratic Socialism (example Sweden), which believe in the free market, with high taxes to pay for large social programs. Democrats like Mamdani pretend they are this type of socialist.

Government run grocery stores are actually Marxist Socialism. They do not believe in the free market, and they want government to control every aspect of your lives. Mamdani is implementing policies of Marxist Socialism. Here are the socialist countries that currently have government controlled grocery stores:

- North Korea
- Cuba
- Venezuela
