@startkyIeorton So interested to see the Blough offense in action. If it’s an offshoot of Ben’s everyone talks about the passing concepts but forgets Ben installs the run game himself. That’s a huge part of why he’s successful. The run game turnaround in Chicago last year was remarkable.

@Keeegs2 Yeah I agree. The Bears had the second most drives end inside the opp 35 with 5 or more yards lost to penalties. They were 23rd in TD rate on those drives. Just not quite good enough to overcome them last year. Hopefully either the penalties stop or they can overcome them.

@startkyIeorton One thing that I haven’t seen mentioned is how often the Bears moved the ball but had drives stall out. They had the third most drives reach inside the opponents 30 but were 19th in TD percentage on those drives. I think it’s reasonable to expect that to get better in year 2.

@mibpj2 @PattonAnalytics @FantasyKash The Bears were t-4th in weighted offensive DVOA. The 2022 Lions were 5th. The 2025 Bears had a better passing DVOA. Idk what you want from me. You asked a (hypothetical?) question and I gave my thoughts. Caleb threw a lot of incompletions. He made up for it with explosives.

@mibpj2 @PattonAnalytics @FantasyKash Like just listing off receivers is cool but it doesn’t give context. Johnson was with all those guys as the pseudo OC for the last half of 2021. Almost half of the Bears regulars were in year 1 of the offense and year 1/2 overall. Talent and draft status only means so much.

@PattonAnalytics @FantasyKash @mibpj2 You can have a top-5 OL but if the pass catchers are young and still learning the nuance of the offense it’s gonna be choppy. This was true even for Goff in Detroit. I’m begging you to do just a little bit of background research.

@PattonAnalytics @FantasyKash @mibpj2 “Problematic non-dropbacks” you are talking about sneaks and bad snaps, neither of which are solely on the QB and I doubt are stable year over year. And again, the *passing* offense was top-10. I think the jump from 20th to 14th (EPA/dropback) is not insignificant.
