When should a referee stop a fight? ✋🥊

A referee can save a life by stepping in at the right moment. The line between action and safety isn’t always clear.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán (@WBCMoro) breaks it down on the latest BOXCAST.

Im happy to inform that 12 year old Romina Castan will not fight tomorrow. The WBC will guide her father and support her amateur career .
Con gran alegría confirmo que Romina no debutará mañana y buscará con el apoyo del WBC una óptima carrera amateur para debutar cuando sea adecuado

Iconic WBC Moments 2025 - WBC Enhanced Scoring System

The World Boxing Council successfully implemented the “WBC enhanced scoring system” during the first two rounds of the WBC Boxing Grand Prix.

The WBC has developed this system over many years with the support of Duane Ford and his committee of ring officials. It allows judges to score each round numerically and provide a report on whether it was a close, moderate, decisive, or extremely decisive round.

These categories have a numerical value that’s reflected in the enhanced scoring system. It’s undoubtedly an innovative system that avoids draws in boxing, providing impartiality for the fight winner and transparency for boxing fans.
