Today's 75 bps Fed rate hike is further inverting Canada's yield curve (see the 10yr-2yr yield spread below) and further boosting the chance of recession. If history is a guide and CPI starts downticking, 5yr fixed mortgage rates should be markedly lower by the end of next year.
