What happens when you stack 1000+ new phone routes on a 18 year old Class 4/5 telcom switch that was already struggling.
SIP and yes SS7 TDM
Rhetorical question.
It sucks harder than you can imagine.
Not my decision but now my problem
Software engineering fundamentals are more important now than ever. I don't care what any influencer or CTO has said.
Good fundamentals means you can direct AI to write more productive code for you.
Bad fundamentals means your AI-written code will be a liability.
The Human powered AI Enhanced back end of my site got its first piece of what I would not call Spam, but for sure no content worth reading and it did a fine job.
I am oddly encouraged by this.

Built a local-first AI control plane to run behind my consulting front end.
30 years of telecom + modern AI workflows.
Already running real traffic.
Letโs see where this goes.

The hard problem in AI coding isn't code generation. Claude Code already solved that. It's decomposition. Planning. Verification. Simplification. PR management. Institutional memory.
That's engineering management, not a smarter agent.
The latest evolution of my AI based workflow has had many updates since I last posted about it. This site is for fun, but what I build and learn here gets applied to other projects. 25 years in telecom, + AI, interesting...

Tonight's experimentation is Remotion with Claude Cowork. I don't really know what I'm doing, but so far, I've been able to prompt my way to a rough promo video for a product.
If any of you are curious about this stuff, you gotta jump in headfirst and give it a go.
A long weekend of thinking and working with Codex I have evolved the main site behind the AI projects to where I am happy with it.

https://t.co/WZVwEyXElb has pivoted into something more interesting.
AI Generated Realty site. Nothing here is real, just OpenAI API and Local ComfyUI being allowed to hallucinate and make whatever it wants, mor or less.
And I'm back, in ~3 minutes, and part of that was me getting up to hit the reset button on the workstation. Case is so big it sits way over in the corner.
Here it is in its prior form as a Proxmox. Now it sports an NVMe controller with a WD Black 4th Gen and the AMD 9060.
Time to reboot the workstation. I have figured out that with heavy model processing going on the AMD driver crashes every ~3 days.
Still figuring out the limits of ROCm.
But the system is evolving.
New experiment has the bots trying to build DNA. Interesting interaction. The images don't always follow the response but they try really hard.
Current session will auto update. Manual refresh is required when a new session starts. Will fix soon.

The LLM orchestrator known as Gerald just runs all day in my home lab creating things. Here is one image from the current session. Why? I'm not sure, but it's fun. I'll curate and tweak the experiment when I get home. Fun stuff.
