Is no one at all interested in who owns out water companies, how they fund the loans and on what terms they took those loans? Surely some bright journo out there could use a career defining scandal to boost their standing? #bbc
@RishiSunak Cheers indeed! For raising a further circa £1.3 billion for the coffers just by raising duty in wine without consulting anyone and not indicating where this money will go (although almost certainly to plug the gap left by weak energy and natural resource taxation policy!)

The police say there's
No evidence of any criminal offence
Seems the "criminal" here is not Edwards
but Rupert Murdoch

@premnsikka@Feargal_Sharkey Who funds the debts of water companies and what are interest rates (and were they competitive at the time the debt was secured)? Are any of those financial institutions owned by shareholders if the water companies?
It’s worth asking your local water company first, how much debt they have, then who is supplying the loans, and third what interest rate they are paying and was it market competitive at the time it was agreed. You might be very surprised by the answers…
@Feargal_Sharkey What is also staggering is that a good chuck of that debt is held with shareholders of the companies who receive inflated (over market) interest payments for the lending. This is surely corruption on the highest level?
@rcolvile @ledredman @paulwaugh Once again.
WCs have a statutory obligation to build, operate and maintain sewage systems capable of "effectively dealing" with the "contents of those sewers". @Ofwat say we have provided all of the funding needed to do that.
Where's my money?

What are the “cost” implications to over spreading N nodules (into a water course too) versus other factors of “productivity”:
Tractor time & miles
Driver time
Diesel
Crop damage (spread far less track damage)

@DavidTCDavies your tenure in government has been pretty ineffectual in sorting out anything that matters, but could you at least help with the potholes on our roads in Monmouthshire. An easy win I’d say, after so many failures.
Good luck to all @chefsnightoutuk and particularly @sherrymonster44 and @Asador44 in their attempt to raise a ton of cash for @tyhafan on Saturday night in Cardiff. Very happy to be able to support on the wine side too. Good luck!
