And I also feel bad because then I was a bit rude to the person who asked if I needed help getting to where I’m going. So it’s just all a spiral of hating myself 😃
No, actually, what it is is I’ve been so hard on myself recently that this slightly rude response is causing me to unravel which is making me be even more unkind to myself 😅
FYI, the program is apparently “full” - a very common MLM tactic. But don’t worry! There’s a second program! And this one is $350!
STOP. PREYING. ON. CANCER. SURVIVORS.
There’s a large Instagram account that is claiming to be a “cancer expert” and putting out very harmful messaging around healing after cancer treatment for the soul purpose of selling a $300 group coaching experience.
This person posted in their story addressing the “haters” in response to that post and...idk, the whole thing is just so heinous to me.
If you’re recovering from treatment and not losing weight, you are doing great and healing.
Another classmate has taken time off to help care for and be with a family member near the end of their life due to cancer. I feel selfish almost for feeling survivor’s guilt hearing about it.
The dermatologist diagnosed me with notalgia paresthetica and brachioradial pruritis - neither of which explained the itching in my legs and feet. My PCP ordered a chest X-ray when I found out my left arm was swollen, and that’s how the large mediastinal tumor was discovered. 2/2
This is WILD. Almost exactly my experience with diagnosis. I was diagnosed with allergic contact dermatitis in 2018, but that didn't make the itching stop completely. I even saw a dermatologist a couple months before being diagnosed with HL 1/2

@InspiredMN@ThanksCancer Friends mostly, for chemo and procedures that involved sedation. Now that I’m back at work I’ll just walk to the hospital for easy appointments.
I honestly don’t know if I could do treatment and grad school at the same time again. One set back was enough and even though it probably wouldn’t happen in the worst parts of a global pandemic again, it would still be hard. But I need good health insurance.
(AYA continued)
- Do I risk my insurance coverage under this employer and change jobs?
- Do I risk an insurance gap?
- Can I afford COBRA if I am let go?
- Can I afford treatment otherwise?
- Can I tolerate treatment while working?
- Can I afford to be on disability?
THIS THREAD. I am extremely privileged that my health insurance situation is quite possibly the best it could be, but that’s not the case for the large majority cancer patients and survivors.
For Adolescent/Young Adult (AYA 15-39 y/o) Cancer Patients (and their caretakers):
- Will parental insurance cover this treatment?
- Once parental insurance runs out, will my employer's insurance coverage be suffice?
- Supplemental insurance DOES NOT cover pre-existing conditions
