Chinatown Community for Equitable Development 華埠公平發展會 is an all-volunteer org building grassroots power in Chinatown thru organizing, education, & mutual help.
Chinatown is in a pivotal moment. Gentrification threatens to forever alter our community—no longer a lifeline for working-class immigrants, only a playground & piggy bank for the wealthy. We say no! 🙅💰

SHAME on Triumph Residential for their blatant mistreatment of tenants!
Help support Triumph Tenant Council by contacting them and echoing the tenants’ demands 👇👇
FOUR tenant unions in LA with the same management—Triumph Residential—just announced the formation of TRIUMPH TENANT COUNCIL and presented collective demands to management and press on Tuesday!
CCED and @LATenantsUnion are joining forces to support their organizing ✊
Triumph Tenant Council grievances include illegal fines, rent increases, violations of privacy, and lack of translated notices for non-English-speaking tenants.
Triumph refused to engage in good faith, re-affirming it WON’T translate notices while ignoring other demands ON FILM!
The Hillside Villa case represents one of the longest-running rent strikes in recent Los Angeles history, occurring amid a broader housing crisis that resulted in more than 75,000 people experiencing homelessness in LA County last year.

After a difficult, historic, hard-fought five-year rent strike, the tenants of @hillside_villa won an monumental victory. Their landlord is canceling over $700,000 of rental debt for 20 tenants, and no one is getting evicted.
One of the greatest tenant organizing victories in LA history—though not all demands were met, @hillside_villa’s 5+ years-long rent strike, supported by @LATenantsUnion@ccedLA, not only prevented evictions, but also won years of affordability, with tons of rent debt erased.
🚨JAIL SUPPORT LA 🚨
Going to a protest? Have a plan. Avoid arrest if possible but make sure you have someone at home that knows your name & birthday & can reach out to Jail Support LA. Call or text 424-610-3020
Be water. Don’t just hand yourself over to the state. Prepare.
If you think you may come in contact with toxic air like tear gas we do recommend a P100 respirator with proper filters & goggles but if an N95 is all you have access to, wear one.
Look at the violence & terror brought on our community by LAPD pigs.
Bootlickers are quick to blame protestors but it is the state who has a monopoly on violence. It is this fascist empire who makes our resistance necessary as they kidnap our neighbors off the street.
There are truly *hundreds* of LAPD pigs still clogging the streets of Little Tokyo like the vile cancer that they are.
This is the police state in full effect.
‼️We are hosting a block party this SATURDAY, May 3, 3pm, at Alpine Park‼️

@reporterliz@LAPublicPress This is a pattern of behavior by Bass's "Inside Safe". They did the same thing to an encampment on the other side of Chinatown on March 6, 2024 - bulldozing and removing shelters in the middle of a heavy rainstorm: https://t.co/vToXReqKha
We're in dire need to keep raising money because of the expenses of keeping all of the eSIMs topped up. For the latest about our project: https://t.co/VjOVQz5o7C
