It's #GivingTuesday! Please donate to support @ccenvstew. We foster responsible materials management through improved local options for recycling, composting food scraps, & the safe & convenient disposal of household hazardous waste (HHW). https://t.co/3VuBi3dzQp
Thanks to all who participated in this year's Pumpkin Smash event at the Landscape Recycling Center! A total of 2,083 lbs of pumpkins were collected for composting, (including 42 lbs. from UIUC students, thanks @secsuiuc!). 21 different "visits" (cars), with 58 individuals.
Join us Saturday, 11/2, 11 AM-3 PM to compost your jack-o-lanterns. Keep them out of the landfill where they'd contribute to GHG emissions & keep those nutrients working for our soils! @cityofurbana @champaigncity@UofIllinois@parklandcollege@PrairieResInst
One thing everyone can do to combat the climate crisis, is reduce food waste. If you have access to composting (commercial service or backyard), you can also keep unavoidable food waste out of landfills to reduce greenhouse gas emissions! Graphics from @EPA
