Prominent US war hawk John Bolton has pled guilty to violating the Espionage Act after previously demanding execution for whistleblowers Edward Snowden & Chelsea Manning and 176 years in prison for publisher Julian Assange.

As part of a plea agreement, Bolton admitted to unlawfully retaining sensitive national security information. He now faces up to 5 years in prison, up to 3 years of supervised release, a $2.25 million fine, forfeiture of his pension, and is due to be sentenced on 28 October.

They could barely bring themselves to say her name and when they did used the dog whistle “Hezbollah aligned” in order to dehumanise Amal and justify her killing by I$rael.

Amal Khalil was a friend to me and many others having worked in the field since the 2006 war. What she did was unique, reporting from the south and raising the voices of the people there who are subjected to brutal treatment and attacks from I$rael.

Amal had herself received numerous death threats, some warning her to leave and if she didn’t her head would be removed from her shoulders. It’s a testament to her that she defied those threats and up until the end continued to expose I$raeli war comes.

She was a brave and courageous journalist, a daughter of the south and her mic and her pen was a tribune of the people. This is what made her so dangerous, with I$rael fearing a camera and a pen more than a Hezb0llah fighter.

Her body wasn’t “found under the rubble” as though it had been mysteriously placed there. I$rael targeted a car in front of her, when she sheltered in a building it was struck collapsing it, then the emergency operations were delayed for at least 7 hours as ambulances and civil defence workers were fired on.

This was a deliberate assassination and a war crime. But try as they might they will never stop journalists here from reporting the truth.

She was selected behind closed doors by party elites and bureaucrats who operate without accountability. It is the perfect illustration of what Europe has become: a technocracy disguised as a democracy.

The European Union’s power structure is built on bureaucracy, not consent. Those in Brussels are not chosen by the people but by the same political class that shields itself from public scrutiny. They issue endless directives, policies, and restrictions that touch every aspect of life while pretending to protect liberty. In reality, the EU has become a machine for central control and regulation, reducing national sovereignty and silencing dissent in the name of “values.”

Under the pretext of combating misinformation and protecting democracy, the EU now monitors speech online, pressures social media platforms to censor opinions, and punishes those who question official narratives. The Digital Services Act is not about safety but about control. It is the kind of bureaucratic overreach that Trump consistently warned against, the steady erosion of freedom by unelected administrators who think they know better than the citizens they rule.

Europe once led the world in culture, science, and innovation. Now it leads only in regulation. The EU exports rules, not ideas. It punishes risk, stifles creativity, and celebrates conformity. The endless talk about “resilient institutions” and “vibrant civil society” rings hollow when the institutions themselves have replaced representation with supervision.

The truth is that democracy cannot survive in a system where those who govern are immune from democratic accountability. Musk’s question exposes what every honest observer already knows: Europe’s problem is not too little regulation but too little freedom.
