@BorisJohnson My sister and friends give the vaccine. They say they have to spend ages with every patient telling them what could happen. How about televising this so the nurses can just give the jab, and move onto next. Side room showing the ad could be set up for anyone who hasn’t seen it!
@paullewismoney Can they start again? Surely other students will have been promised a place now, sorted student finance and have booked their places in student halls. Can see some lawsuits happening - would be a good time to be a lawyer...
@paullewismoney They shouldn’t use mocks @paullewismoney - my daughter was told not to study for her mocks but to concentrate on her 2 subjects with intense coursework. 98% in the coursework, A* prediction - given a B.
@daves59@GavinWilliamson Yes, my daughter striving constantly to achieve a good grade, attaining 98% in her coursework definitely deserved the B she was awarded. Beware employers of numbskulls like @daves59
@Gaz19755792 @alton_farms @Azeem_Majeed@ChrisDo30828241 You’re the one missing the point. It’s not about state/private but about right and wrong. ANY child who has worked hard should get the grade they deserve. Over 10% of my daughters private school year were marked down by 2 grades. She attained 98% in her coursework - given a B??
@AliceHay19 @MarySam16108590 @olorhead@educationgovuk@GavinWilliamson That's nonsense - virtually no child would have studied for mocks in the same way they would study for the main exam. My daughter was also told to concentrate on coursework over revising for mocks, got 98% in coursework, predicted A* and given B. The system has failed her.
@CambridgeInt But you've ignored what the teachers have said, and ignored the work the students have put in. Daughter got 98% on course work, predicted A* and downgraded to a B - how has that happened?? What a waste of two years of her life, spending hours every evening on Media blogs, etc
The only problem here is that @keithmgordon has integrity, where we've seen a distinct lack of this in many politicians. As Keith says, History will judge them!
If I were an MP and I were faced with a choice:
1) focus on my short-term career prospects or
2) do the right thing, even if it means defying a whip,
I would see how I might be judged by history.
If I were an MP today, I would unhesitatingly vote for NC31.
Shows the lack of intelligence and laziness of many MP's! If tax was always due @DSimmonds_RNP then why is the Loan Charge required? All #NC31 does is allow people their day in court. You obviously don't support the Rule of Law?? @EmmaAgyemang@gregwrightYP
I feel I have to post this up again from my MP. @DSimmonds_RNP
"Thanks for your email. I won’t be supporting the amendments as I support the government in seeking to collect tax that is and always was due".
Kind regards
David
I think we'll find out today whether politicians are upstanding members of the community, or simply sheep who follow the party whip. All #NC31 does is restore the Rule of Law. HMRC can still pursue open years through the courts!! @gregwrightYP@GregMulholland1@EmmaAgyemang
The 1st half of 2020 is over. What a strange time it was. The 2nd half starts off with the most important day of the year for #loancharge victims. @DavidDavisMP has tabled #NC31 showing some @Conservatives care. Please @Moore4Southport show you care and vote Aye to #NC31
History will judge them. Either @Moore4Southport agrees with the Rule of Law or he is a career politician. NC31 still allows HMRC to pursue open years through the courts, but returns the tax payer his RIGHT to fight the legitimacy of the schemes. @gregwrightYP@GregMulholland1
I am very disappointed to be told by MY MP @Moore4Southport that he can’t support his constituents impacted by tbe #loancharge by voting for #NC31. I have been grateful for his support of the @loanchargeAPPG but he has faltered at the final hurdle. Please reconsider Damien,
@TaxUnjust@BarbusBarbus2 @Moore4Southport @loanchargeAPPG I'm guessing @Moore4Southport has been got to by the whips. Maybe if he reads this and sees the obvious corruption before his eyes then he may find his conscience and stop being a puppet?

As one of the MPs who has campaigned tirelessly on behalf of the people who face financial ruin because of #LoanCharge, I cannot believe what this FOI reveals. There needs to be a full and open inquiry, not a govt stitch up.

As we said at the time - the Review was effectively written by HMRC, hardly the "independent review" we were promised! Surely yet another breach of the Civil Service Code of Conduct by @JimHarraHMRC - does it mean nothing?? @JonathanLord@gregwrightYP@GregMulholland1

@gregwrightYP@loanchargeAPPG BREAKING:
2 key pts come to light:
HMRC using IT contractors with loan arrangements for several yrs, post-Dec 2010
Amyas Morse + Jim Harra involved in sign-off of the report into this. Then
both key players in 'independent' Loan Charge review omitting to mention any of the above
@nathansldennis Surely a journalist needs to follow the money to see which one of the Tory "mate's" have profited! Just ridiculous they can get away with this!! @gregwrightYP@GregMulholland1
@williambecket @LozzaFox It's the death of comedy. Should we expect apologies from "White Chicks" or "Goodness Gracious Me". The latters "Going out for an English" was clearly racist, yet one of the funniest things I've watched. Comedy digs people out and breaks down barriers.
'Whenever I speak to people affected by the #loanchargescandal I am struck by their quiet dignity. They are honest people, often with modest incomes..who have been hit with life-changing sums.' #loancharge
